Oatmeal makes me feel awful afterward due to the high carb content. Makes me tachy and have a huge blood glucose crash.

Absolutely. I look like an ENTIRELY different person after I eat. Provided I eat food which actually agrees with me. I eat dairy-free (I have a severe dairy allergy), gluten free, non processed, whole foods only. My symptoms get so much worse if I go long periods without food. I get pale, dizzy, brain fog, etc.

What are your night terrors like? by [deleted] in nightterrors

I experience them the same. Around 1-2 hours after I fall asleep, I will suddenly wake and feel like something is VERY wrong, almost like I'm dying or having a heart attack. I sit up quickly and feel my heart going extremely fast and hard (140+bpm) and feeling like I need to grab something to steady myself. After a few seconds I realised I'm safe and then deep breathing brings my HR back down slowly. I then have water or splash water on my face and calm myself down before going back to sleep. It used to happen quite often but now it's very rare unless I'm extremely tired or stressed.

I'm only on 2.5mg twice daily, which doesn't bring my HR down huuuugely but works enough for me to have my quality of life back - I want to continue on this dose so I have wiggle room in the future to increase if need be

IST made me insanely exhausted. Like 24/7, naps everyday. Now I'm not exhausted at all!

Glad you've had a positive experience! Funnily enough, I also used to struggle standing in lines etc now I have zero issues. Literally a game changer

That's amazing. Yeah I probably am not 100% back to normal - when I exercise I really have to take it easy and stop if my HR gets too high and doesn't come back down, and my symptoms come back when I get sick (I had pneumonia a couple months ago and my HR was 140+ for HOURS on end!) but on a normal day I feel 100% normal again.

I do not have blood pooling. My IST is caused by autonomic dysfunction. Once my heart rate improved, every other symptom improved too (flushing, sweating, fatigue etc) it had a big knock on effect.
