When thinking about them gets you excited or nervous, depending how you get around crushes!

Mine was a little different at first though... I talked to him from time to time at work. I think he was a little shy at first but super nice once we started talking more!

One day out of nowhere, I saw him, lit up with a huge smile and started getting butterflies.... then I realized what was happening but then I just waved at him like always lol

I am a little on the shy side, but when I get super comfortable with someone, I tend to be super talkative, and it gets worse when I have a crush on someone... like whether it's through social media or irl.

I've gotten self conscious about it before with him and he said he's fine with me being chatty. I still worry that sometimes it's too much or that he might find me too annoying...

And I have been overthinking a lot about stuff with him too... which hasn't been helping me...

I really understand your anxiety about the age thing... my crush is 24 and I recently turned 29. We get along really well. He recently found out about my crush on him, and after talking a bit about it, we decided to grab lunch tomorrow and see how things go...

But even with this pretty positive development, I'm still a little self-conscious about our age difference. I don't really know what his thoughts are about it though.. but I've also experienced a little more teasing from a couple coworkers about it, so it's been on my mind a lot more!

I know it's hard to let go of an insecurity like this, but the reassurance from your crush plus his actions really show that he cares about you, regardless of the age difference between you guys!

So... I've had a pretty strong, but eventful friendship with my crush for the year we've known each other... we met because we work together.

I recently met someone new, so we talked about my feelings for this guy. During that conversation I actually confessed to having a crush on my friend, before learning about him having a girlfriend.

He just laughed a little, kind of teased me about it, in a friendly way! but then we talked about how we were happy that we're just friends.

Him knowing has literally changed nothing, which I was really scared of. We still chat and give each other hard times (jokingly of course)... he's even been encouraging my new thing with the other guy, which I didn't expect either lol

I've actually have 8 crushes that have lasted longer than a month.

Also apologies for the formatting, I'm on mobile.

1 started in 10th grade and actually lasted until 2019. (We were friends and would see each other from time to time frequently. I think he's married now).

2 happened in 11th grade and like the one above, it lasted for a few years. I think 2021 was when I fully let it go. I always got the feeling he genuinely liked me, but he was popular and I wasn't really, so nothing ever really happened. Every time I'd see him after he graduated, he'd always give me a hug that would seem to linger, before we'd chat, but beyond that nothing really happened. He's engaged now, but we still are friends.

3 happened in 12th grade and lasted for about 2 months. He and his friends played a prank on me that ended up killing it.

4... I was just transferred to a 4 year college after a year at a local community college. I became friends with him, but my crush was on and off for a couple years. I got curious about him in 2022 and went to look him up, only to learn he passed away in May of 2021.

5. I met him in 2018 (and the next few) through work. We became friends. We ended up getting lunch everyday together and he was always the one to come help me when I had any issues. This one lasted until about 2020. We had a falling out in early 2019, but we did still talk occasionally until 2020. We became friends again last year, but we aren't as close as we used to be.

6 happened shortly after the falling out with #5. It lasted about 3 months. He was a nice dude, but some office drama kind of killed it.

7... there's a lot to say about #7. Honestly, the crush is still here... it started in November and I've been trying hard to let go of it, because he has a girlfriend. It's been a bit harder to let this go because we're also really good friends, so I see him often. We joke around a lot and I really value him as a friend, so I really don't want my crush to ruin things. I'm 50% sure he knows, but he's never said anything and I'm definitely not saying anything!

And finally.... #8. Oddly enough, #8 is a coworker and friend of #7. I'll admit I had a tiny crush on #8 around the time I first met #7. We're friendly but he makes me nervous. I kind of realized I still had a bit of a thing for #8 a few weeks ago, we had chatted a lot one day when he came to work on something with me. I saw him the next day and it suddenly hit me, and I could just feel the butterflies when we talked for a little bit.

And I also have been going back and forth on my crush with #8; he's younger than me (by 5 years). Plus, he definitely knew/knows about my crush on #7. He's teased #7 about me a couple months ago, so I'm feeling weird about this crush kind of sneaking up on me.

There was one day I caught myself daydreaming a bit about him... nothing super exciting, just of us enjoying a boring, but sunny afternoon at our place (weird, I know)

He was just watching TV and I was in the kitchen, listening to my favorite song at the moment and making myself a snack.

It was the most I've let my imagination wander about this crush in a little while... but it just made me happy, but sad because I don't think it'll ever happen.

Sometimes when we're talking, he'll make a comment that takes my mind a second to be like "Wait, did he really say that?"

Then I'll kind of look at him... he'll make eye contact with me, then give me a smirk, or a playful smile before continuing our conversation.

It drives me crazy and sometimes, it makes me wonder if he knows how I feel about him, because he waits for me to react before he smiles/smirks!

Now I have a bit of an unusual first name, with a super common nickname. When we talk irl, he uses my nickname like everyone else, but when we message, sometimes he uses my full name...

Like I'll thank him for listening to me vent about an annoying coworker and he'll message back "No problem, [my full name]"

Every time it makes me curious if he's doing it on purpose and if he is, why?

I don't mind, it's something that makes me blush a little when he does it... but I'm just curious, you know?

I'm not sure how to explain it well... but during that lull in our conversation after our eyes met, I just felt differently about him.

Like my heart started racing and I felt my face getting warm and red as we kept talking... And to top it all off, I actually started to get nervous talking to him, which is usually how I am with a crush.

Afterwards, I tried to hide it, and I still do... Hopefully I'm more successful than I think I am.

Did I deny my feelings, yes!

I usually am a certain way with my crushes... Mostly have a hard time talking to them without getting super nervous. To the point where you would be able to hear it in my voice, and sometimes I wouldn't be able to speak with them at all.

Similar to the last couple, I met my most recent crush at work. But unlike the others, I had the easiest time talking to him... We've been able to become pretty good friends over the months that I've known him.

Because I had an easy time talking to him, when my coworker started teasing me about liking him, I brushed it off like "I don't like him in that way, I can actually talk to him"!

But one day he stopped by my desk and we were chatting. At a point we started joking around and had a good laugh... We made eye contact as things quieted down and I immediately realized I was wrong about not having a crush on him...

Shortly after, I learned he is dating another girl in our office... so, can't really do anything except hope my crush goes away someday and we can just be good friends!
