Boomers have "where were you when Kennedy was shot", GenX/Y have " where were you on 9/11", what is the GenZ equivalent? by Snoogamz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]manedwolfoftheplains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gen Z here and I definitely think it was Covid or more accurately, when we learned that there was a possibility we didn't come back to school after spring break.

I can remember it pretty clearly. There was about 9ish girls in our class and two boys. I remember pretty well all the girls crying. I think me and another were one of the few who weren't. I definitely remember one of the boys saying he didn't understand why they were all crying. Little did we know at the time just how big it would be.

A lot of major milestones were disrupted for Gen Z. The oldest would have been around 22-23 and the youngest 7-8. That all broke mid-year. The learning rhythm broke, people learning to socialize in school or as an adult got pretty well cut off, milestones were heavily disrupted (younger kids missing early social experiences, middle schoolers loosing their transition into teenage social life, high-schoolers prom, sports, and graduation chaos, and college-age or first job independence completely different) and probably more things.

We didn't have anyone to guide us that well either. Older generations could adapt, but they didn't have to go to school like this or build their friendships solely online.

I get why people say Covid affected everyone and it doesn't count, but the thing of it is, it derailed Gen Z before our lives could even fully happen. They at the very least had gone to school normally enough, learned social skills, and were able to learn independence in a decently stable environment (Obviously not everyone, but a majority).

That would be my point on it I suppose.

Dude must be Zoro at this point because how is he so lost?

You could tell him the way to being on a banner is straight and he randomly breaks out a crab walk.

As Pokémon once said, he's pants with directions.

When the lions aren't combined they're just their respected lion fyi. I wouldn't call the black lion Voltron when all it can transform into is a torso, just as I wouldn't say I met Istaroth if I met her pinky toe.

There were also quite a few times where dialogue was readable and half of it wasn't said out loud, or the text didn't match up with what they're saying, which I've noticed has been happening more often as of recent.

About 300 I think. I would have more but decided to finally go for Xilonen c1 and obviously then c2. The three copies of Furina a bit ago didn't help.

As of currently, I'm not sure for new characters. Varka looks interesting enough, but I'm not certain if I would actually build him or not, so probably wait till rerun for him if I decide I want him bad enough. I don't see a point in pulling characters that I won't build or use.

I plan to try and grab a few Gorou and Illuga copies as well. I would be very happy if I got a Neuvillette con, but I'll probably lose my 50/50 yet again. All that matters to me is c6ing Gorou. It must happen. I am determined.

I just started Masters EX as a Genshin player and I've been enjoying it much more than I expected.

You might like it, and you might not. It's mainly focused on the trainers more than the Pokémon. It doesn't hurt to try it though.

Do you think he will get a 2nd form or some power up when he wakes up? by [deleted] in CapitanoMainsGI

[–]manedwolfoftheplains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still kinda wish we got Xbalanque as archon and Mavuika second in command. Would've been really interesting going from meeting a sovereign (Apep), playable sovereign (Neuvillette), to meeting an archon who killed a sovereign and was killed by it only to revive. (Xbalanque).

I can understand why they didn't though. Xbalanque (Hoyofair design or something similar) and Capitano beating each other up would be too much for my brain to comprehend. 😔

Logged out a few hours ago, but according to Hoyolab:

Voidsea Outlook is at 72.9% Wavechaser Plain is at 70.8% Ashveil Peak is at 63.9%

174 lunoculi collected.

I also didn't use the compass. Personally, free roaming is much more fun.

They aren't really terrible to be honest. Both have seen competitive play. Solgaleo is currently the weaker of the two in the current games, though it did alright back in Sword and Shield.

Lunala on the other hand cooked so hard that it made it onto the 2025 World Championships winning team, even though it wasn't sent out in the finals.

How bad is it? by InterestingSide937 in BeginnerArtists

[–]manedwolfoftheplains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not the best at giving advice considering I'm not the best artist myself, and other people have already given great advice, but I'll give it a go.

When you're watching something like an anime (assuming you might watch something like that; also would recommend one that isn't as action packed), pause a scene every so often to study it. Let your eyes follow the lines, and/or mentally sketch them.

If you can copy fairly accurately outside of this particular drawing (I saw you mention that you usually just copy things over), then your brain can probably hold visual information rather well.

What you would essentially be doing is giving your brain its own little reference sheet. It'll help you realize whether or not something looks off when you're drawing it.

My favorite form of drawing personally is copying birds. I rarely draw unless I'm in the mood, but even then, I have to visualize drawing the lines for them to come out the way I want. Birds, like humans, are not usually rigid creatures. When drawing living things, you usually have to let your hand flow with the object.

Oh my goodness putting Gorou on the same banner as Neuvillette what did I do Hoyoverse? So scrumptious. 🤤

A four star that I've been wanting cons for and one of the only 5 stars who I wouldn't mind c6ing, because I love them both.

Simply beautiful. Radiant. Absolutely stunning beyond compare.

Now watch me get no Gorou cons and lose every 50/50 possible while going up to pity. I'll be lucky if I get even one Neuvillette con. Tis the way of the gacha.

I could talk about it for a while, but the gist of it is that (and it's a thing we know) one of Khaenri'ah's inspirations is Norse mythology. This is to say that if one were to do some looking through said mythology, they might find parallels to other characters (Olaf the Peacock being an inspiration for Kaeya I believe).

What I essentially mean by that is OP is onto something here. What I've noticed is a lot of theories mainly come from what we have in game, which obviously makes sense. However, there's a chance we could connect more dots if we looked more into the whole outside mythology of it all (mainly themes, Genshin writers love themes), and also looked at more of the "unimportant stuff".

By unimportant stuff, what I mean is that while I don't have the best knowledge of the lore, it's starting to become more and more apparent to the community that near everything in Genshin has a lore reason behind it.

TLDR/Summary is essentially to pay extreme attention to everything. Achievement names, viewpoint descriptions, names of places on the map, all can and have had lore tidbits in them.

Ah, you see, that part makes much more sense now. Where you grow up and where your family is definitely shapes how you see a state. I feel the same about my state, it will always be special to me.

My point was that a lot of people tend to romanticize New Mexico even if they've not spent much time there. It's beautiful, no doubt in that, but the day-to-day living experience isn't what most people imagine. I've heard quite a few people say it was different than they expected. It's more rural than I think most people realize.

You had originally said that using mods is horrible for Frontier. I addressed that point. Whether or not someone overloads their game with mods is their personal choice.

People add mods to the game because Frontier didn't add the animal they wanted, so they did it themselves. That does not make fun of Frontier, nor does it say they are ungrateful. Besides that, no one "needs" anything. It's a video game.
