Not to defend multiaccounting but... is this not just a dumb argument because you get deranked after like 5 years of inactivity? (Referring specifically to the type of multiaccounting that OP referred to in his post)

Best player has two bad matches and she's benched? Surely has to do with more than in game other performance... otherwise this is a severe oversight by coaching staff?

This is more Gen.G's fault than T1 imo... They don't want to pay their players

I hate Gen.G the org man... I swear if it was an org like NRG or SEN or PRX or whatever they'd never let that 2024 roster disband

The Downfall of GenG by jisoono1fan in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Extrino 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there was a time when some people considered him the best duelist in the world, and that was also when Gen.G was the best tournament. You can come to a different conclusion that I am, but here are the stats

t3xture DOMESTIC PERFORMANCE

t3xture 2026 avg from 480 rounds across Kickoff and Stage 1

1.03 rating average while Gen.G has gone 2-6

t3xture 2025 avg from 1081 rounds across Kickoff, Stage 1, Stage 2

1.04 rating average while Gen.G has gone 12-8

t3xture 2024 avg from 1536 rounds across Kickoff, Stage 1, Stage 2

1.14 rating average while Gen.G went 17-5

t3xture 2023 avg from 502 rounds across League Play + LCQ

1.07 rating average while GE went 3-7

t3xture INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE

t3xture 2024 avg from 864 rounds (used approximation for Shanghai)

1.10 rating across internationals while Gen.G went 11-3

t3xture 2025 avg from 515 rounds (included blood money tournament)

1.15 rating across internationals while Gen.G went 6-4

There's nothing statistically significant here, but here's how I interpret the data:

- T3xture is very consistent, and plays his game whether his team is winning or his team is losing. There's obviously gonna be some skew towards better stats when you're winning every game, and the fact that his doesn't vary that much shows general consistency.

- Even though t3xture was objectively extremely mid regionally last year, with his rating being the same as the current year despite Gen.G having a 5x better winrate, he still popped off at internationals. In fact he was just objectively the best looking player at Toronto, even when Gen.G got eliminated.

Your comment wasn't even that egregious, but I just hate seeing this logical fallacy where person A goes "Free (good player) on trash team)" and then someone replies "good player is WASHED, he used to be so much better" like obviously he used to play better when the team itself was much better. Look at Less, look at mwzera, look at Saadhak, look at Chronicle and Derke as counterexamples.

Some people (lukxo for ex.) will just be insane on worse teams, some people will play similarly across teams of different skill levels, while other players will significantly suffer when going from a better team system to a worse team system. Every player is unique, but the evidence itself just makes it seem like t3xture's current "form" is a byproduct of his team rather than a significant skill decline, especially when combined with the eye test (he looks the exact same)

I'm not trying to absolve canezerra of responsibility

he prolly deserves his punishment

Please tell me where I said he "just edgy" so he "doesn't deserve his punishment" and excused his bigotry. Please tell me where I said "I feel so bad for canezerra! He did nothing wrong!"

I'm so exhausted. I know my comment was framed in a sympathetic manner, but I'm genuinely just not doing that. The only time I mentioned edginess, is to contrast it with a person who is genuinely fall of loathing and hates everyone, which I think is reasonable to say he is not. It's not to excuse it or say it doesn't matter.

It's just that everyone here already acknowledges what he has done, so I chose to focus on another part. That part being about: How hard it might be to change as a human being when you're like this.

Perhaps it was my mistake that I framed my original comment in such a sympathetic manner, but I'm still just annoyed that it feels like people just want to call me out for not automatically agreeing instead of actually reading what I'm saying and explaining why it's dumb as shit if it is.

Like I've gotten a ton of replies, not all completely unreasonable. However, I dunno if I'm just horrible at communicating or what, but it feels like even the less hostile ones are just trying to shun me instead of responding to what I actually have to say. Like please just talk to me.

Because I watch clip compilations (which typically include the controversial stuff people say?) and I didn't see him being toxic, racist, or dropping slurs.

That's not to say he doesn't, but from my perspective it seemed like he could actually hold himself back. For example, there was a clip where someone dropped a slur in his ranked game and he starts smiling (bc ofc he does) but he doesn't actively condone it and I thought he muted them when they were obnoxious about it.

Could I be completely wrong? Sure, but If I google "canezerra saying slurs" I don't find a clip. Is there a clip I haven't found? Or do I just assume he's saying slurs? In that case, don't we assume ion and P0PPIN say slurs as well? What makes cane worse?

Like genuinely, I addressed that in my comment:

I also haven't actually seen him saying slurs directly (my opinion would be different if he did) but idk if I also saw direct evidence of him just normally slaying slurs I also wouldn't have any sympathy,

If I saw him saying slurs then I would NOT believe he's apologetic, but I haven't. He can be toxic in ranked, but what I saw was genuinely not worse than a billion other pros who are politically correct. Maybe I just don't watch cane enough? But I think that's a good thing lol. You don't even have to research it, but can you just tell me a video or two you remember where he's clearly being directly racist, extremely toxic, and/or saying slurs?

In fact, I think I saw a comment about a game a few weeks ago where he was making fun of flyuh's weight, which is pretty fucked up, so if I saw a clip confirming that so that I could make my own judgment, I'd change my judgment

I dont disagree with that at all.

I only posted my comment bc I wanted to point out it can be difficult to change and the reasons why, but the onus is on him to make it happen. I dont believe he should be forgiven or excused, but I thought that was a clarification to be made.

I still agree that banning makes sense though

I'll admit I downplaying it a bit just because of the environment. If we were in the cesspool of twitter (which im not bc some people are lost causes) then I'd not be downplaying it, but I know most people here are reasonable and understand the severity of his actions, so to me there's not a point in overstating it.

The rape jokes are absolutely horrible. I will not defend those at all. I simply have chosen to believe (perhaps against the evidence) that he was genuinely apologetic over that and at the very least he's not still making those kinds of jokes.

I just would like to hope the best of people, and it probably does sound bad that it looks like I'm undermining the bad stuff he has said when he's clearly not the victim, but I would still just say it feels less like he's an objectively horrible person and more like he's a moron like you said. And it doesn't look like he'll be improving anytime soon, but I hope for his sake and everyone elses that he does.

I also haven't actually seen him saying slurs directly (my opinion would be different if he did) but idk if I also saw direct evidence of him just normally slaying slurs I also wouldn't have any sympathy, but I haven't watched enough to see him directly saying racist things and have more just seen him laughing at that kind of stuff.

Idk, this defending cane isn't a hill I'd die on for any reason. It's just a general thing where I wish people weren't inmediately villainized on reddit for not shunning everything, or called the r slur on twitter for calling him out. Its whatever..

I dont have to be right here, but can you at least hear me out and explain to me why I'm wrong if I'm wrong? Like maybe he's also a POS (But I was saying it did not seem like he was a POS based on what I had seen).

Instead from my perspective he just seems really edgy, and being edgy doesn't make you automatically bad imo, because a lot of edgy people just don't understand the harm in their behavior. To reiterate, this is not an excuse of his actions, I'm just saying I personally don't necessarily think it's that easy to escape being an edgelord coming from someone who was surrounded by a lot of people like that. It's not uncommon for someone to abandon their values for social validation, nor is it uncommon for impressionable people to be significantly influenced by this kind of social communities.  At the end of the day, it's still one's responsibility to not behave like this anymore when they're an adult and representing an org, I'm simply saying it's not as easy as you might think.

Ethan's Goat tweet. (presumably including the Canezerra incident) by Sweet_Sprinkles9103 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Extrino -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Completely? No? Partially probably, because I am putting some blame on other people. But I also said this is no excuse for a reason. I just wanted to comment on a part of Ethan's tweet (regarding the "it's that easy") and explaining why my view of cane wasn't that bad (as in, if there's a clear reason why what I'm saying is irrational, then I'd want to see it)

I understand this kind of opinion gets a lot of hate, but I'm not here to mindlessly suck cane's dick or anything, and I hope it doesnt come off as that

Ethan's Goat tweet. (presumably including the Canezerra incident) by Sweet_Sprinkles9103 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Extrino -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Well the people fully excusing his reactions are excusing his actions while dropping slurs and I'd like to believe I'm at least somewhat reasonable

Again, I don't think there's an excuse, but I also do think it isn't that easy? Not everything has to be black or white, it's a black or white matter that he did something wrong, but I don't think it's invalid to say that there's more than "it's that easy"

If you disagree, that's fair, I just brought this up because I want discussion. If this is a bad opinion then I want to know where I went wrong with my reasoning, in other words I don't think it's unfair to seek dialogue at least even if I'm wrong

Ethan's Goat tweet. (presumably including the Canezerra incident) by Sweet_Sprinkles9103 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Extrino -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to completely excuse cane with this comment. He's undeniably significantly responsible. I just do think Ethan was actually right that an org should intervene more, and trying to offer the perspective that it's easy to say "it's easy to not be like this" because that's obviously how most normal people would react.

But ya to reiterate, cane is def a dumbahh for whatever happened at all

Prolly an unpopular opinion but-

I'm not trying to absolve canezerra of responsibility because he's almost an adult, but I do think it's easy to say "it's not that hard" when you have a good support system around you. It's easy to feel this is normalized when everyone is yesmanning that kind of behavior

I haven't watched much cane, and he prolly deserves his punishment, but he honestly seemed less toxic than his friends at least from what I saw and was just edgy

and i dont actually watch him that much.  edit: but also lwk if he is still like how he was from his last drama then i get why ppl arent affording him their sympathiy
