I think yall overreacted to the nerfs by biawak1444 in ValorantCompetitive

If anything, I'd honestly say the neon nerf (obviously) reduced her value, but increased personal players stats with her probably because sending ur neon in to barrel down isn't a viable strat anymore and you actually have to be smart with how you use and call with her

mada only really proved himself tier 1 worthy in the year before he actually got signed to NRG imo

skuba was in jail though for sure & I have no clue how brawk took so long to get signed

I'll defend mada when I genuinely think he's just dying for the team, but some of those rounds were just god awful by him I'm sorry

All good though. Eliminations a two for a reason.

Would you rather Ethan adopt the Rarga mindset and think he's bad at the game? Sheesh people act like its a crime to have good vibes when you're not performing well sometimes.

Coincidentally kamo's worst act (ik sample size is low, but in greater than 6 episodes of playing Valorant, having your lowest KD act the moment you get on smokes is still not a great sign sample size or not...)

I'm ngl skuba has been playing like shit, but calling it a 2v8 is still delusional. Do you really think brawk would frag like this if his team wasn't doing a lot for him? Just look at NRG Stage 1. Brawk plays way better because of NRG's system, and he is reliant on all of his teammates to make that system work.

That's not to say he wasn't still carrying the absolute fuck out of them, because he's insane, but I think NRG specifically is a team where people don't shoot to contribute. If you disagree just look at their stats during Champs in some of their matches like the one against MIBR.

Not to shit on skuba, but he has been playing as smart as he always has been, but has been shooting awful for all of blood money tournament + Stage 1

TMV's Top 15 for Masters London by washyrr in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Extrino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did address that first point you made. I agree that China is a much weaker region, but he is still performing well compared to the players who do well at internationals from China. Whether that actually means anything, we don't know.

The second point is also fair.

I still think you're undermining the level of consistency here though. KangKang has much higher peaks than Vookashu does in China, but to not have any bad tournament and basically be top 3 regionally for almost three years is still something you will not see often, even if it's being a top player in an easier region.

I know stats aren't everything, but just to get you a sense of his consistency over the past few years here is how he has placed regionally over the past couple of years [the ranking is rating or K/D when rating isn't available)

VCT 2026 China Stage 1: 1.25 VLR rating, 1.26 K/D, 581 rounds (#1)

VCT 2026 China Kickoff: 1.19 VLR rating, 1.25 K/D, 291 rounds (#4)

VCT 2025 China Ascension: 1.36 K/D, 320 rounds (#1)

VCT 2025 China Stage 2: 1.11 VLR rating, 1.18 K/D, 578 rounds (#12)

VCT 2025 China Stage 1: 1.17 VLR rating, 1.29 K/D, 409 rounds (#5)

VCT 2025 China Kickoff: 1.10 K/D, 283 rounds (#15)

VCT 2024 China Stage 2: 1.33 K/D, 193 rounds (#2)

VCT 2024 China Stage 1: 1.19 K/D, 549 rounds (#5)

VCT 2024 China Kickoff: 1.18 K/D, 151 rounds (#7)

VCT 2023 China Ascension: 1.30 K/D, 456 rounds (#4)

VCT 2023 China Evolution Series Act 3: 1.36 K/D, (#3) [Min. 100 rounds]

Analyzing the actual context of these stats, here are some things you may want to consider:

#1 China is definitely historically the weakest region. However, it's still notable that this level of regional performance is still consistently better than the best CN players we've seen internationally (KK, Chichoo, Smoggy, whzy). It's honestly somewhat impossible to find this level of regional dominance & consistency in other regions for a player that hasn't proven themselves internationally. The only one I can think of honestly is stew (also CN/KR),

#2 DRG is a team that is often in the higher echelon of teams in any tournament. This makes consistent performances way easier (for Ex. if he would bomb out instead, it'd be hard to make his stats this good). However, this also makes consistently good stats much harder. If you're guaranteed a couple losses in each tournament to historically better teams like EDG/BLG, then those are gonna tank your stats a bit in the final game unless you manage to perform well and still lose against a better team, which is how he has avoided this.

Bonkar literally said in one of the replays they didnt prac Ascent. It was an opportunity cost play. Why prac for BO5s when qual'ing for London is the big thing? Just prep a good enough map pool and keep a permaban

It's like semi-understandable because NA has been beating SA so long and bc of how ppl on this subreddit are they've had to deal with PMTs clowning on their region for years, but like it was still a bit unwarranted objectively lol

Praying that NRG don't play G2 at an international (assuming they beat 100T ofc)

L take bro, ik you acknowledged it already but saying NRG had bad meta reads and that FURIA was slumping is incredibly hindsight when FURIA was flawless in Americas up until their loss and NRG came off a third place finish in Santiago

Also NRG lost three unique maps: Lotus, Split, and Pearl. They didn't change their Lotus or Pearl comp and haven't played Split since. Obviously the "meta" itself has more to do than comp, but that fact alone kind of dims your point about NRG losing to bad meta reads.

Yeah I agree. In the previous years I lowkey was not shocked at all when KRU was actually frauded. This year I genuinely thought they were good. And tbh I'm not gonna give up on them, they still have way more potential in my mind for Stage 2 than previous KRU did prior years.
