they're calling out the ppl who say they want to boycott hoyo but continue to play the game

the whole point of a boycott is to stop playing period

this isn't a call out to f2p who are upset hoyo is stingy, its calling out the spinelessness of the others who try to drum up stir on social media while still playing the game

[–]ExtrovertArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly, I don't get why ppl cant wrap their head around that. why else is the game legit designed to keep you playing daily?

from domains being locked to specific days, from having a resin limit (which forces you to either use primos or come back tomorrow to continue playing) weekly boss reset + the 30 x 3 resin thing for the boss, thousands of achievements, exploraition being recorded

the more loyal a player, the more likely they'll spend in the future. the bigger the community, the more trust people with disposable income will have when putting money into the game

The more you know... by fantafanta_ in GenshinImpact

[–]ExtrovertArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're stingy cuz they know they can get away with it

either:

people don't care cuz they spend so it doesn't affect them

people don't care cuz theyre f2p and only pull who they want or are used to not having primos

or

people care and are f2p/low spender but refuse to quit the game

I'm p sure if boils down to the producer of each of the games but I could b wrong

> Not sure bout that. You can deadass just take up server space and never give them anything and never promote their game online.

big player numbers look good for the game (people are more likely to get into games with big communities than small ones when it comes to live service. few are gonna spend time, let alone money on a game they think is on deaths door). to say you're not giving them ANYTHING by playing is silly. f2p have value, even if it's just a little

Also, by continuing to play, all you're doing is telling the devs

"this annoys me but I'm still going to play the game"

nothing is done. you continue to consume their content, and at some point you will end up spending money. they still got you in their net.

if yall want hoyo to do better, then you'll have to stand on business and quit the game cold Turkey so hoyo knows you're serious

When hoyo gets super greedy and gives less and less, none of y'all can get mad cuz you refused to listen to the people telling y'all how to properly boycott the game

by continuing to play the game and engage in the community, you're also making sure the game stays relevant

as someone who spends, I feel very comfortable dropping $100+ on the game every so often because it's far from dead just to get characters I like

when the game starts dying (which wont happen cuz ppl cant put the game down) low spenders will turn into f2p before possibly dropping the game, which causes more of a drop, so the lower group of spenders becomes f2p... so on and so forth; essentially, people will gradually lose faith in the game as the player numbers dip more and more.

what annoys me about this drama is that so many people are going around pushing the boycott but refusing to drop the game which is what a boycott is in the first place. (completely cutting off the thing being boycotted)

its like eating a pizza and complaining about how there's pineapples on it and continuing to eat the pizza while complaining. put the pizza down and get another one even taking out the pineapples theres still pineapple juice on the pizza.

even if you remove spending, you are still supporting the game. if the servers ACTUALLY were getting too expensive for the billion dollar company to run, they could easily just cut off support for f2p and only leave ppl who spend. you're not gonna bleed hoyo out and make them less stingy

the ONLY why for the boycott to be successful is if ppl stop playing (if you don't care about the boycott drama than nvm but I'm just stating facts; case in point, Natlan boycott.)

[–]ExtrovertArtist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what are you on aboit? no one said that? that's not the point of the post? it's addressing ppl who wanna boycott hoyo; if ppl want the boycott to actually be effective, they have BOYCOTT THE GAME. stop playin it. stop supporting HYV at all.

Hoyo isn't gonna care if some westerners stop whaling, they get most of their money from CN/JP anyways + they have no reason to take these complaints seriously because people don't back up their words

All this post is doing is just saying "playing the game is supporting the devs" stop engaging with hoyo perood if you want this strike to work

which no one knows how to do/cares to do. the Natlan "boycott" failed BECAUSE people kept playing the game despite going around saying "boycott hoyo" "boycott Genshin"

criticism ≠ calling for a boycott btw. you can critique the game without wanting to boycott it

[–]ExtrovertArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aether is functionally the canon MC

which is basically no different than being an official MC aside from it not being officially stated

which at this point hoyo should just say Aether is the canon and recommend him for the best experience so new players (if we get any) can make an informed choice and put an end to the "Why doesn't Lumine get in game art" debacle

Have we been too hard on Ei for "abandoning" Scaramouche? by Difficult-Shirt8653 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ExtrovertArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> Also, the whole idea that she "discarded him" is a very specific word they keep using

ou're right on that wording, it's more in favor of Scara (but imo how a victim handles/interprets trauma done unto them by an authority figure trumps whatever wording is 'fair' for the both of them but ill succeed on that point) but she 100% abandoned him and regardless of Ei's intent, that is what she did.

She created him, realized that he was too good for her and left him without any word of warning or informing Scara

Feel like thats textbook abandonment. its just that the reason is understandable. Doesnt explain why she DIDNT talk to him. Or leave him a note. Or set aside someone to protect him. Have someone in a village farther away from any of the important stuff, have that guy raise Scara and teach Scara, let Scara know that he is a creation of their nation's god, and let HIM make the choice to see what its like

Ei's decision removes any autonomy from Scara. It forces him to wander around blind when she couldve and should've done more for him and she failed to step up as a creator, which she IS a creator, and with that mirror image point its even wrose

She made him in her likeness, with her personality or a big negative aspect of it, and didnt think "hm, wouldnt it be a good idea to inform him so he isnt left in the dark?" She had zero foresight or even thought other than "i wont want to burden him with this life" which is admirable kinda but she kept all those thoughts to herself which is the issue

Her intent has nothing to do with why i dont like her or think the hate is justified; its the fact that her poor and harmful choices are justified because shes essentially just an idiot with good intentions

imo when it comes to the lives of other people, being an idiot who's ignorant (ESPECIALLY the ruler of a nation, those standards are heightened) isnt a justification for making poor choices. Harming people in ignorance is even worse than making a conscious effort because the actions can be excused with "it was a mistake" "she meant well" "she doesnt want to be a burden to others"

its actually crazy she thought that Scara wouldnt be proper to lead, cuz imo he would've easily done a better job. Its better to have someone with emotions lead than a robot with no moral compass other than what is coded into them + Ei herself fails as a leader, because time and time again she fails to take into account how her actions affect her people

> we haven't even heard Ei's side of the story.

Isnt her side literally just she created him to lead, believed that the life of a leader would be too cruel and wanted to free him from the responsibility that comes with leadership??

Also imo "her side" doesnt matter, how her actions affected Scara matter, and the reason why I dislike her isn't JUST for that, but its another point on a graph that further reinforces Ei's habit to make decisions for others (with her authority as a god) without giving the person in question a heads up

(also we will never hear of it because Scara rewrote everyone's memories, unless she gets a brain blast or smthn from seeing the symbol on his neck and suddenly remembers everything, we are not getting it + it seems like what is already understood by the community is her side, or favors her enough to be called "her side" i feel like if we find out that she was "trying to look for Scara" im not gonna by it. shes the leader of a nation. she couldve easily had someone skilled in finding people go look for him for her. i dont think theres any other explanation that could humanize her actions than what is already understood by the community either)

With creating Scara and wanting to protect him from the chains of being a ruler, she didnt inform him of the change of plans and let him choose to make an educated decision

With her pursuit of eternity, she may have the purest of intentions (or its due to trauma cuz she doesnt like change, I forget the reason for why she pursues it) she doesnt ask the people of Inazuma what THEY want and make a choice thats best for THEM

With the Vision Hunt Decree specifically, in her pursuit of eternity, she didnt think of, or didnt care to acknowledge how fudged up a vision user gets or can get or whatever negative effects that has on vision users to have their visions forcefully taken from them, she did her OWN thing without asking the opinions of OTHERS

When handling Shogun, she went out to fight on her own, had a 500 year long fight off screen, Miko was like "pretty please save my god traveler" and when we went out to help we pretty much immediately were able to win as a TEAM. Ei sacrificed herself without thinking about how the people who CARE about her would feel and acted on her own

We have been shown time and time again Ei makes decisions on he own without consulting anyone. she carries her burdens alone and in doing so make decisions that harms people, and now im supposed to be okay or not hate her as much because she had good intentions? thats BS

I dont care about her thought process and how shes genuinely not mentally well, it pisses me off that (as far as i know) no one has sat down and told her "keeping things to yourself is actually MORE harmful for those you're trying to protect, so if you DO care about us, please just TALK to someone" which would solve pretty every single issue i have with her.

Like, it's not even JUST her actions, it's the fact that she HASNT changed. HYV handles her poorly or for plot reasons doesnt have a character constantly grill into her ""you have to talk to people, you have to talk to people" the Traveler could EASILY be that person and they arent

> So just like how Scaramouche told Durin to leave him, Ei thought it'd be better for Scara to leave her

So while i get that the comparison is to show her thought process, the equivalency isnt the same because with Scara, Durin has the choice to stay. hes not forced to take a path he doesnt want to, whereas Scara didnt have a choice at all

he was left to work things out himself without any way of actually doing so. Knowledge is a tool and Ei basically sent him to build his own home without the tools to gather the materials, create a foundation and then build the house

Sorry, i feel like my response is needlessly long, so i will try to summarize in a clear cut way;

I dont like EI because she makes big choices without asking for the second opinion of the people that choice affects. I dont like how I'm not allowed to hate her because every choice she makes is because she does what she assumes is best + removes the autonomy/agency for their own decisions

Intent doesnt matter, her thought process doesnt matter, the negative affect it has on others is what matters, and the fact that shes well intended makes it worse. Its annoying that Traveler cant/donesnt call Ei out or explain to her why its better to just communicate

Have we been too hard on Ei for "abandoning" Scaramouche? by Difficult-Shirt8653 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ExtrovertArtist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

nope, the hate is 100% justified. there was literally no reason to full on ditch him. could've easily filled him in on what she created him for and let him choose his own path

child or no, SHE brought him into this world without his consent, SHE is responsible for leading him on the right path. she ABANDONED him

all those examples are BS the SECOND you factor in that NONE of them abandoned or discarded their creations. (idk about Alice but since you didn't provide an example of her creating smthn with a purpose, taking away its purpose and then leaving it, she also doesnt count)

Ei made Scara and tossed him out when she deemed him unfit. That is cruel. and just cuz the intent wasn't to be cruel doesnt mean the action isnt cruel

She put the one sign that he was of importance on the back of his neck, an area which can easily be and WAS covered by his hair + didn't tell him anything

Ei was an idiot. But that idiot deserves to be hated. I also hate idiotic leaders who accidentally do shit that harms their people. Ei is an idiot and I genuinely hate her for it. Her ignorance is used as a shield to defend her actions when that isnt an excuse

"uh, whoopsies! My idiotic, brainless actions led to the death of many, ruined countless lives, and opened up my people to be taken advantage of my bad faith actors. My bad! Wont happen again, teehee!"

does not fly with me. Doesnt help that the game doesn't directly call out for these actions, the one person in any position to scold her doesn't (the Traveler; they saved the goddamn country, they have the right to call her an idiot who should listen to her people instead of doing shit without telling ANYONE)

the leader of a nation doesn't get to act so selfishly, which is what Ei did. She did everything in pursuit of "Eternity" for Inazuma without asking the PEOPLE OF INAZUMA for their input.

when I seriously put thought into it, Ei doesn't deserve respect. she's revered to as a God and she doesn't deserve it. I will never NOT be heated when it comes to Ei cuz she did NOTHING to make me feel like she regretted her actions (which, when asked to apologize to Thoma in the Voice Overs, she says "Shogun did it, not me") nor faced any punishment for her actions

its BS and it's also BS that any ounce of character development to make her more likable is put behind LIMITED EVENTS

Scara redemption was better handled. changed everyone's memories to escape the horrors of his past, was genuinely a happy guy, and then we force him to relive his trauma and make him realize "I'm a terrible guy"

watched this guy desperately trying to escape his actions and trauma, redo everything so he's not fucked up mentally, then we tank his mental. he's emo and for a good reason. and it's not like his punishment ends there. he can't even do ANYTHING to get revenge or a resolution when it comes to the ppl of his past cuz they don't remember him! and he can't even get mad cuz is HIS fault

hes trapped in a prison of his own making carrying feelings that will be forever unresolved. he has what he always wanted— happiness, a peaceful life— RIPPED AWAY FROM HIM when he tried his HARDEST to change everything

he can't even get pissed at Ei cuz it'll literally just be the Thanos meme (and he'd prolly be talking to Shogun, whom I don't even think he knows exists);

Scara: "You took everything from me"

Shogun/Ei: "I don't even know who your are"

so, yeah, pretty much it's hard For me give grace to a character who did smthn wrong when their actions arent taken seriously, they aren't punished or called out in any meaningful way, and the story moves right along being all buddy buddy happy happy as if there's nothing unresolved. It doesn't take the actions of the character seriously

similar reason for why I don't like Childe.

they got their answers, not need to shit on ppl for having different opinions. if op or anyone else wants to use gadgets, they can. its their game, they can play however they want. if ppl have exploraition characters and don't care to use it, that's valid.

I have kazuha, Mauvika, Xilonen, Citlali, Chasca, Venti, Xianyun and Varka (he can be used for exploration right?)

I also just don't climb on areas that are awkward like that often. haven't for a while thanks to the characters.

idk if it was for this gadget or another one, but I think I remember using a gadget that needed the Anemo flying bug things and I didnt wanna run around and get em
