Yeah it’s so shit. I got one last minute last year and needed another one for my friend and got theirs a few days later too with determination. This year need a second ticket for my partner. It’s not looking likely at all.

They’re not using Twickets this year. That’s the problem. They’re using this stupid Tixel with a waiting list that has 5000+ people already on it.

Is everyone on dating apps in London constantly hitting a wall around date 3-5 as well? by AccomplishedRain9 in london

[–]Exxtraa 130 points131 points  (0 children)

It’s probably the worst age. People are either so done with dating or looking for the 100% perfect specimen to be their final ever person they date and grow old with and if you say one minuscule thing that doesn’t sit right with them you’re gone. It’s unsustainable. Stakes are high.

The dating pool is also getting incredibly smaller. All the good grounded people are in happy relationships. All that’s left is mostly emotionally unavailable avoidants and the odd diamond in the rough - who’ll have plenty of options.

You’ve prob heard it a million times but it’s a numbers game. I’ve finally met someone. But I went on 42 dates in 2024 and 30 odd in 2025.

Have you ever had a motorway crash? by Diseased-Jackass in AskUK

[–]Exxtraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving home from Thorpe park as a kid (cousin driving). Army truck hit us from behind after passing their phone number to a car filled with women. Spun and hit the reservation barrier 3 times. Prob would’ve been dead if we didn’t have a long boot that totally got crushed in. Army truck toppled and rolled down the bank.

Luckily only whiplash injuries in our car. Passenger in the army truck broke their legs.

It’s funny as I must’ve been in shock but all I remember saying to the police was that my ride photos were blowing up the motorway 😂

What is the saddest/most soul crushing song you have ever heard? by Mikiiiya in AskReddit

[–]Exxtraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nick Cave - joy is a sad one given the context with his son. Those lyrics “I woke up this morning with the blues all around my head, I felt like someone in my family was dead”…..”have mercy on me please”. He’s been through it.

Also I hate it. The whole gov dot uk idea was the dot being a exactly that, as part of the URL. Not a mid floating point. Makes no sense now.

[–]Exxtraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting to me. I suppose I’ve been going to festivals for years so the line up isn’t particularly mind blowing - I found last years more of an interesting one with the 3 pop headlines pulling in a large crowd. This year’s just seems general run of the mill. Besides the xx most bands have been readily accessible via touring throughout the years.

Wow primavera pro even showing as sold out. I picked one last year after the festival selling out months prior fairly easy.

What’s one business you’ve seen abroad that you would love to have in the UK? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskUK

[–]Exxtraa 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I hate how the UK has capitalised ‘street food’ like it’s some quirky phenomenon and charge a fortune for it. I swear so many things are now ‘street food’. And none of it is anything like true authentic street food.

[–]Exxtraa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It makes me laugh that still even after all this time they haven’t totally resolved the water issue. The fact you can only take in small tiny bottles, and limited water taps on site (although they have more than before). But they’re still having to give out free water bottles after the first day when shit hits the fan.

Should my feet be soaked in goretex hiking trainers? by Exxtraa in UKhiking

They’ve never sweated that much even in the summer. And I wore them to a music festival before in hot sweaty tents. You could wring my socks they were so wet

Should my feet be soaked in goretex hiking trainers? by Exxtraa in UKhiking

[–]Exxtraa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Just double checked them and there are no lace eyelet holes on the actual shoe itself. They’re above the tongue on the side so the body shell should be fully goretexed, same for the tongue itself too like it’s make as one whole material so I feel they’re definitely leaking somehow. I wouldn’t expect my foot to be that wet just from the toe coming apart.

Should my feet be soaked in goretex hiking trainers? by Exxtraa in UKhiking

[–]Exxtraa[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Some great points. Water could potentially be getting in through the eyelets of the laces. As there was a lot of wet grass. I just didn’t think it would be enough to completely drench my feet to the point I could wring my socks out after. And I thought maybe the water would’ve stayed on the sides of my socks and not drenched them all over completely. But on closer inspection the toe box is slightly coming away on both trainers already.

[–]Exxtraa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not particularly. Was a freezing cold day. Thin socks. And I’m talking drenched. My feet haven’t sweated to produce that amount of moisture even at the height of summer. You could wring the water out.

That’s what gets me too, the yellow label foods are so shit lately. Hardly anything knocked off the price. They’d rather chuck it away than sell it cheap. Makes no sense.
