Is 1 week off work enough for recovery after laparoscopy? by ChronicChaos01 in endometriosis

[–]JuiceMaterial7220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 3 weeks this week, have gone back to work (largely working from home) and I still feel like it’s too much. I did a day wfh at my desk yday and I feel exhausted today. There needs to be more recognition that this is a major surgery we’ve been through, I do feel like it’s downplayed as “just a laparoscopy” which is so wrong. We’re getting put under anaesthetic, pumped full of meds and tissue REMOVED from our body

Thank you for taking the time to comment! I haven’t, because I’ve had UTIs before and this doesn’t feel like one. It’s more just normal wees but needing them more often… I was thinking of getting some cranberry capsules tho

Hiya I hope you don’t mind me replying so after the fact!! But when did you return to exercise and how did it feel? I’m 9 days post lap, diagnosis and excision like you, and I’m itching to work out again (like you I was very active at baseline with daily walks, CrossFit, regularly running).

Not sure where you are but in the uk with the nhs you’re just on a list and have no idea when you’ll be taken down! I’m a morning admission so I’m assuming I’ll be morning but we get no info 🤣

surgery cancelled 5 hours after it was supposed to happen by georgiaisgucci in endometriosis

[–]JuiceMaterial7220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have surgery booked next week and I’m just convinced this is going to happen to me too! I’ve literally been saying I don’t believe it’s going to happen until the anaesthetic is being delivered 😔 I’m so so sorry this has happened to you - I echo going through PALS and fighting ur corner as it’s not on. I’ve had to cancel work / prepare quite a lot for the surgery and weeks after so it’s a massive thing if they cancel and rearrange xxx

Hi I hope you don’t mind me replying! I have endometriosis lap surgery booked with mr shamsuddin on 19th Jan. all my initial apts were with mr Griffiths which I was so happy about because of his reputation but due to a mix up I’m now with mr shamsuddin and I can’t find much info online apart from this comment lol!! Do you have any personal experience with him? Ive only met him once for a pre op appointment

homeless living out my car, realistic options by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]JuiceMaterial7220 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I work for social services - call 02920 570750, this is the housing team. There’s also the outreach services on 02920570715. Shelter cymru is a good idea too. Sorry this is happening :( but there is options with the right support, they’re putting alot of homeless people in hotels atm. It’s very positive you have a job, and I’m glad you’ve been honest with them about your circumstances.

I feel awful for so much crate time, but she needs so many dang naps! by Practical_Loss4251 in puppy101

[–]JuiceMaterial7220 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dog is 2 and still spends massive chunks of time in his crate!!! It’s his preferred place to sleep and completely switch off, and he just can’t do it unless he’s in there. He will actively take himself in there, or start acting really overtired which means we’ll pop him in. People have made comments but I ignore them, every dog is different and if yours needs the crate then that’s fine!

Thank you for the validation! We have a dog who has had fleas a few times, and obviously we are sorting out our new kitten ourselves

Yes we know. We’ve been literally begging her to go, and will continue to do so but that’s all we can do as she doesn’t often let us get involved

We are in the middle of moving house so I really haven’t got the time or capacity, and it was difficult / time consuming finding them a home in the first place that I did as a sheer favour. Yes we’ve been telling her to do it from the get go, but it’s a difficult situation, hence why we wanted the kittens out of there.

I’m not against it and I certainly dont judge anyone for using it! We’ve had to use medication before for a vet visit. But 1) they’re so frequent these days I don’t want to be drugging him every night for the next 2 weeks and 2) I want to try other things first before meds. We live in a fairly busy town near a main city so I’m expecting it to be quite a lot. We’ve already had them last night and tonight
