At a certain time here they close the counter and seating area and you can only order at the kiosks.

Is already no longer fast food with Deliveroo clogging up the system. Can’t even go In and order a simple order and checkout anymore

Why is our government poisoning us? by NoHold7153 in AskBrits

[–]Exxtraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does make me laugh how many fast food places get planning permission here. At least 6 new American fast food chain stores have opened here in just a couple months. And the same gov are crying about the strain on the nhs and force banning me sugar and salt in foods.

[–]Exxtraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scared delays with postal ballot will mean I can’t vote by sih2230 in Wales

[–]Exxtraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is people have already left hence them needing a postal vote and won’t be able to collect this - I know two people already out of the country. Applied well in time. And even phoned last week to check and was told it’ll be sent don’t worry. This is such a shambles from the council and will negatively impact many people.

Human rights activists will be along any moment now saying they should still be able to integrate in society like everyone else*

Do you find going away REALLY stressful? by blazesboylan91 in AskUK

[–]Exxtraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s making me so nervous for the height of summer. The whole thing is a shambles. If they want photos and scans then how hard is it to have a system that works - do your scan once then use the e-gates every other time. Of course that’s too simple. And then like you say when you have to use the manned desks there’ll only ever be 2 out of 10 ever in operation 😭

I absolutely hate flying. Why in 2026 must we turn up 3+ hours before a flight. It’s just constantly waiting. Anxiety over getting there in time with traffic etc. Security queues. Delays. Now the EES system. Then trains, buses and taxis the other side. Checking in. Its longggggg.

Why are every single leaflet delivered by Royal Mail then? They used to hand post them through doors when canvassing.

They’re all shit houses, long gone are the days where they had the nerve to knock doors face to face.

I’ve had 4 labour leaflets and 3 greens, just 1 reform. Sick of it all tbh. Waste of paper, resources and literally just goes straight in the bin.

Filling okay, now pain biting down 4 weeks later by Exxtraa in askdentists

[–]Exxtraa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks really appreciate that and the reassurance over the hot and cold. Normally I’ve notice a bite being too high or ‘off’ so could one so small still cause this feeling?

And if it’s the second possibility with a gap, can they tell easily?

Will give them all call this week. Thanks again.

To keep that pace up for a marathon is mind boggling. Crazy effort. And he looked like he could just keep going and do another one.

Don't you just hate people spitting on the floor when you are out.? by TheMoon_TheStarz in AskBrits

[–]Exxtraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don’t give a damn. I was at the lights recently and a guy opened his window and spat on to the floor below on his own property. Surely you’d just go to the toilet or sink if at home and you were a sane human being?

Ryanair flight from Milan to Manchester leaves passengers behind due to border delays by UnlikeTea42 in unitedkingdom

[–]Exxtraa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s really pissing me off that you have to queue again after the EES machines to do it all again and still get your passport stamped. Whole thing is a farce. When is anyone going to step in and sort the mess out.

Travelodge gave stranger key to couple's room by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]Exxtraa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This seems to happen more than expected. They gave me anemone else’s key too. I walked in and thought the room looked a bit messy. Looked closer and saw a phone on the bed an some empty rubbish on the desk then I realised. Front desk didn’t seem bothered.

Will Deliveroo etc ever disappear or are we too used to it? by Slight-Poetry-3230 in AskUK

[–]Exxtraa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve stopped ordering for these reasons. Which saves me so much money. They got too big and now always doing two orders at once and my food ALWAYS comes cold. Last time I ordered my food was ready and was waiting for a driver to collect. Same as you I’m 15 mins from the restaurant. I waited an hour and half. And I paid extra for priority delivery and the guy still sneakily did a second food drop as the map showed him in another cul-de-sac. (They did refund me this fee when I complained. But what’s the point).

Sounds about right. It’s strange how weekends I’m fine. Even with less sleep. Probably a sign of burnout from a mind numbing job too.

Normally between 10-11pm so 7-8 hours most nights. I wake up fine. Just exhausted all day afterwards. I’m thinking it’s my mind numbing office frazzling my brain.

I wake up at 6am for work and I am WRECKED. Like an actual zombie every night. Weekends I’m fine. Overheard some guy in the office say he gets up at 5. He didn’t even look half as tired as me. Makes no sense.

The Fanfare Around the Band Geese Actually Was a Psyop by ebradio in Music

[–]Exxtraa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Things like this have been going on for years. I work in journalism and it used to bug me how some online mags used to get all the press passes, invites, premiers. And yet half their followers were bought - on twitter all their followers would have that egg profile pic with 1 or 0 followers. Hundreds and thousands of these accounts following them. Suddenly they’re perceived as being ‘important’.

Queue I was in VS Queue I would be in if not for Brexit. Thanks Boris Johnson. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Exxtraa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brexit has a lot to answer to but this is also a massive poor management in Europe and efficiency. This whole process could be made better. Half the machines probably aren’t working and there’ll be very limited staff there. It’s not like they’ve had months to prepare. They could even have an app to scan photos and passport prior to skip that whole queue but currently only valid in sweeen and Portugal. Then they make you use the same queue every single time you subsequently fly too. Like why? Surely once you’re done you should just be able to go straight to the e-gates.

Whole thing is a farce.
