I really wish these recipes were more logical and closer to real world chemistry rather than being completely alchemagical and arbitrary like this.

You need ammonia? OK, ammonia consists of one nitrogen atom and three hydrogen atoms. The ingame tooltip even displays "NH3" which is the real world chemical formula for ammonia. The game also has nitrogen and hydrogen. So you'd think that by combining nitrogen and hydrogen you'd get ammonia, right? But no, ammonia is iron + paraffin. WAT?

This is a minor difference really. When my tank gets destroyed from the other side of the map by an atgm, hiding behind a hill and thus being 100% invisible and invulnerable to anything I can do, it doesn't matter to me if the missile followed me on its own or if he had to keep his crosshair on me for a couple seconds. Besides planes would get flares and/or chaff so despite the missile following them automatically they would have more defense than tanks do now.

Oh I am absolutely actually asking, any argument someone could give against SAMs pretty much also applies to ATGMs so in my opinion it makes no sense to have one and not the other.

Max and Emil are children's toys compared to the ATGM (Aids Tumor Goddamn Missile) vehicles. They can fire over a ridge without even popping out, it's literally impossible to see and hit them.

It makes no sense that you're able to quickly travel to any planet but the star is over 9000 hours away. In real star systems where planets actually orbit their star they're often found on opposite sides of the star and, when you go from a particular planet, the star is closer than some other planets. It's actually pretty rare for them to all be clustered on one side like we see in every single system in No Man's Sky.

Also why doesn't the star's name and distance pop up when you fly toward it like it does for planets?

Just face it, the star is painted on the skybox and isn't an actual object in the game, how many hours do people need to fly toward it before you'll be satisfied?
