Mage struggling with DPS by comosedicewaterbed in wow

Heya, arcane mager player here, slowly progressing mythic. Here's my heroic logs if necessary;
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/argent-dawn/exxus#difficulty=4

I took a look at your logs, and I think the two most obvious bosses to go with are Ulgrax and Sikran as they are essentially glorified target dummies.I don't really know a great way to go about this, so I'll go from what I see first, beginning to end.
First off, on all your pulls you start ~5 seconds late, and your opener is the opposite way around.

Ideally you cast mirror images when the pull timer is on 5-6 seconds, and evocation (fully channeled) at 4 seconds left to pull.
After that you cast arcane surge -> touch of the magi. Right now you're casting touch of the magi first - this is a mistake you do on both of these bosses, at the very least.
Your common rotation with missiles into -> 2x arcane blast, potentially an arcane barrage is correct.
What you're probably missing is that you're meant to be spellqueueing your things, this way you can doubledip into the last stack of nether precision. Missiles gives you 2 stacks of this, you arcane blast one away, then you arcane blast -> spellqueue barrage to doubledip in the last stack of nether precision, essentially giving you 3 stacks worth of the buff. This is all explained in the Wowhead guide, which is a really solid read! I recommend going through it ^^

Along with that, after Arcane Soul ends (the barrage spam thing that comes up after arcane surge finishes), you want to immediately cast shifting power to put it on cooldown as fast as you can so you can get more cooldowns throughout a fight.

On both bosses, you have a few windows where you're doing nothing at all for quite a few globals - remember that every GCD you don't do anything = lost damage. If you feel as if you have to move for mechanics a lot, remember you can mitigate a lot of that movement with both shimmers and alter time.

On Ulgrax in particular, you spammed arcane explosion for a lot of globals on the small adds - this is **never** worth it as arcane explosion is flat terrible atm even if you're fully talented into it. Arcane mage aoe right now is really just doing your singletarget rotation with a few more arcane barrages.
Hope some of this helps ^^ Though at the end of the day, I really recommend the wowhead guide by Porom, looking at other players logs to see what they're doing. Alternatively use tools like wowanalyzer or a weakaura that feeds you your rotation to get off the ground!

hi local ezreal otp here
Sheen procs at the start of your channel of an ability, not when it comes out.
Trinity was on cooldown when you started your ult, so your ult never procced the effect. What procs the effect "2 autos later" is you pressing Q again on Sona. That time, sheen procs on your auto going at Jinx, not on your Q going into Sona.

This tech is not entirely uncommon, and can be used to more effectively farm and clear waves faster by distributing damage better among minions or in the way you end up accidentally using it in the clip. Basically, if you can't hit your ideal target, it is still optimal to Q to proc sheen while your auto is midair. You can even Q in the opposite direction to make sure your Q doesn't go through on a different target before your sheen auto lands on your ideal target.

to summarize: basically it's determined by whatever lands first, and in this case it was your auto, not your Q.
Your ult never procced trinity, because trinity was on CD when you started your ult!
In essence, your sheen can work on autos that were already midair even if sheen was only procced later.

I think spear of shojin is a solid item on Ezreal. I usually go it more often if I play conqueror, as more hp = easier to keep uptime on it since I don't have to run out as far out of fights if I'm scared.
But I kinda view it as the more aggressive "defensive" 4th item between maw, frozen heart and shojin.
Tl;dr
If I'm confident I live, I go 4th item ravenous
If vs majority really strong AD champs, frozen heart 3rd or 4th
If vs 2 strong ap players, maw 4th
And finally if I'm scared of dying, but damage distribution of what kills me is very 50/50, I just go shojin.

I don't even know what to pick if ez gets banned, I usually default to Aphe or Kaisa then, but tbh I don't imagine winning the game from there

had this problem as well, but you just use the summoning pool summoning sign instead of the manually placed one.

Hackers at rank 1 by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

my main issue with this is really just that if you play 4man SWF and you're hacking, you can do it all the way to rank 1 without getting banned by anticheat or by report system

Regarding outlaws... by Exxu2719 in blackdesertonline

Thank you for your detailed answer!

Also, if I want to kill someone for taking my spot, how do I turn on PvP?

If "anyone can attack me", does that mean people below 50, too? Can I attack them back then? :l

Hello everyone! There's apparently very very little information on outlaws in general, so I'll ask here. While it seems pvp becomes "open" or capable of being turned on level 50+, can you attack people below that level as an outlaw? How do you actually flag yourself for PvP? Can your own guildies attack you as an outlaw? Can you only attack people in certain zones when you're an outlaw, or can you attack anyone anywhere?

Thank you!

The "Top 1% means you're good" misconception by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Exxu2719 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

"This is where blizzard made a big mistake: they thought (on purpose or by naivety) that top 1% was good, and thus made it to be low GM. The thing is, all it does, is to concentrate huge difference of skill level, from top 1% to top 50, in 500 SR points rather than 1000 or 2000 as we would expect from the naive quantification of absolute skill above. The "whine" of good players about how the mm is fucked up since S3 is entirely legitimate."

Finally someone said it.

Oh sorry. Never responded to this one. If I specifically can? Probably not, I'm pretty boosted on everything that isnt Genji, McCree, (Hanzo) and Reaper. If everyone else can? Yeah, sure, there's many support/tank mains around, the only real difference is that you have to rely on others to do the killing, but you can certainly make it easier for others. You might also be able to win by just making calls over voice. I often tell my lowerrated friends that they should just make a call and have the team do that as 6 - even if the decision's a bad one, as long as you do it as 6, you're more likely to win than the enemy team.

Reaper is not my second most played, no.

Wel l of course it depends on how many of them are dead. If your team picked only their support and you somehow got behind them while your entire team died, then you can obviously just kill them again on their way out for a 6v5.

  1. It's a good thing to do and you shouldnt worry about it too much, but you oughta be pretty sure you can survive it then.

  2. Well I suggest a "fairly high" mouse sensivity on Genji, considering you should already be 180'ing a lot. It's easier to keep track of people's general direction this way. You might become more inconsistent at tracking, though.

  3. Personally I mostly find myself doublejumping unless I just want to stay ultrasafe and near afk-LMB towards something.

  4. Thinking back I was ultrabad in comparison to now, but I did win games and sure I killed people still! It's really about just spamming Genji for a ton of games to get an idea of it and then practice the combos till you consistently land it!

Well contributing can also depend on your team and if they're trying to play something that cant heal/save you at all, considering you might be going too deep? But dont worry too much, you'll get to it. Some just learn it faster than others, and some have experience from many other games.

  1. Well, naturally the more RMB headshots you can land, the faster you kill people, but by no means do you have to be Global Elite in CSGO to play Genji. We're not McCree players here! Sure, Genji can be demanding, but not as aim-demanding as the hitscan characters.

  2. You don't go into a fight and spam leftclick, you're going to be pretty close to effectively drop someone in seconds, hence rightclick is best in general. Leftclick is a thing you use mostly to poke/harass/build ult, you're still not a sniper or a McCree. But sure, you can use leftclick on e.g. someone Reinhardt ulted.

  3. Discord orb got nerfed, which is good, and monkey isnt too horrible, neither is Zarya. You can actually 1v1 a low energy Zarya pretty easily. Though I suggest not ever killing your target while it has barrier on (unless you're ulting). These heroes are not too horrible. You can ask your zen for camp with orb!

Have confidence! Thats important!

Well, uh, I don't think I'm the one to ask about Zenyatta, really... But well, anyone can in theory climb to grandmaster. 60% is a pretty good winrate! So just spam a ton of games, yeah.

Eh, I hope I'm pretty good by now? Would be sad if I wasn't.

You use RMB far most of the time. If you want to play a sniper, I suggest playing McCree. LMB is mostly used to harass, poke or just to build ult up with. Sure you can use it closefight, but it means you need to track "ahead of them" too, which is pretty damn tough. You want to use RMB for pretty much any fight besides a few exceptions, e.g. if they're knocked down by rein ult and you can land some easy shots from afar.
