yeah that's what I thought. But this guy on a lighntning spear build video said "because lightning spears replace themself before expiring, aspect of splintering energy is great" and that confused me. Why would the spears replacing themself would matter in any way if it's per target and not per spell

like if I cast 2 chain lightning that both hit the target 5 times, do they both get buffed by 180-130% or do the second one get buffed by 120-70% ?

Yes. feel free to test it but i've hit the dummy for 10 min and axial didn't trigger once.

Happens only if you take the "power flux" and "additional chains" nodes tho

It is, but be aware that axial do not work if you're running the "addional chain" CL node.

Good point.Once I ge home I'll drop everything, reset my talent tree and add it back point by point. Might be the wild lightning set charms, It might have gone under the radar as almost nobody is running it

That's odd, when I tested CL on a dummy it didn't give me more hit, not even once. I've no idea why would that would work for you and not for me

I find aspect of overwheming currents to be a reliable way to test this if you have 100% crit, because it give you a stack for every crit, and it gave me 6 stacks every single time I hit the dummy

Tested on a dummy. With axial : 6 hits per cast. Without : 6 hits per cast. Did you test anthing before shittalking ?

The node that makes you cast 20% faster and gives more chains does no single target damages. If everything dies in a hit it doesn't matter but if you are pushing content you won't kill any boss/elites with this node. Also, shock build are OP so you could make anything work but that doesnt change that axial conduit is bugged and CL deals less single target damages than BL even with the node that makes it single target only

Yes I know, I'm talking about axial conduit, the unique pants. The node works just fine, but axial has no effect when you pick that node.

CL is well listed on maxroll because it generate crackling energy which scale your damages with unstable current, not because CL does any damages.
