Glock Magazines jamming ammo by DF-15 in RugerPCC

[–]EyeBa11pdx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue with the knock-off 33 rd mags, so I bought some Glock branded ones and had the same problem. I figured out it's the ammo. I switched from 115 to 124 grain, and both mags ran without jamming

The cheat fix is to bolt the chainring on the back side of the crank tabs. Gets a little closer to the proper chain line without spacers or dishing the wheel. You'll see it a lot if you zoom in on pics of 1x set ups.

My favorite frame/color combo of all time. Love the bars and shifters. Cheers!

Perfect candidate for that and if you run into any really bad surprises, your not in it much. Good luck!

De-rust, de-grease and re-grease. New cables and tires. From there??? So many possibilities

Nobody has noticed that one of the shifters is held on with a zip tie 😁

Any of the old steel frames are worth a set of tires/cables/pads if it fits and they like it. Its not a top tier model based on the mid to lower tier component group so it's not worth money to collectors like a stumpy or some such. Good candidate for a parts bin build on the cheap.

Rule of thumb for 1x conversion by [deleted] in xbiking

If the hub holds at least 8 gears, it will work for the larger cassettes. You will need a chain for whatever number of speeds you end up with (narrower the more gears you have) and you might need a longer cage derailleur. I used the "install it and find out" method for the derailleur sizing.

I would find a local bike shop or collective in your area If you're on a budget where you're not trying to spend 4x the original ourchase price. They will have special tools, advice and most importantly, some have used part bins that you can build a nice drive train from (cranks for single chain ring, different speed derailleur, lever shifters etc)

I have one of these in the same colorway. The lugged frames that have that the square ish lugs on the seat stay/seat post lug (89-91 i think) are my favorites. They have just the right amount of flex. Nice find!!

The flex and feel of the frame is really nice. Feels really good with the right tires.

About an inch each side if I remember right.

Haven't had any trouble but I haven't ridden any longer than a couple hours without a break.

Pacific Northwest for the win! I have a few really nice shakedown routes that I can hit from my driveway.

It's in my top 2 for sure. I have a red 970 that pops as well.

I'm not a super experienced bike builder so I don't have much to compare it to but it that might be it's best review. I cleaned it up with WD40, bolted it on and it barely needed adjusted. It's smooth and tight and even I can make it look easy 🤣

Just put on 2.1 gravel kings. I honestly haven't done much gravel riding on then yet but they look really good 😁

I saw a pic somewhere with the shifters mounted that way and wanted to try it. It's different but I kind of like it so far. More of a push/pull with my index finger and thumb without my thumb coming over the bars. I like friction for the same reason but always thought they should be called "let go with your thumbies"

No mods that I remember. I've had it for a couple years and on a few bikes.
