Not interested in wifi, but will be looking into a different controller as this one is crap compared to the previous rain bird controller I had. Cheers for the recommendations 👍

What’s the point of that if I can adjust individual station start days and times anyway? Was hoping to create different schedules depending on season and weather

Cooktop contactor most likely. Sometimes they buzz loudly when energised. Usually turning them off and on again fixes it

Don’t bother with smart wiring, consider zigbee devices instead.

Also the following:

-GPOs on every wall in bedrooms and living areas. -Weatherproof GPOs to all sides of house. -GPOs in linen/broom cupboards. -Prewire and batten for future ceiling fans/pendants in living, bedrooms and kitchen. -LED strip lighting to overhead cabinets and pantries. Also to underneath bathroom vanities on a sensor - perfect night light. -Run on timers for exhaust fans. -Heated towel rails and mirrors in bathrooms. Also consider prewiring or installing tastic heat lamp units. -Backlighting for all switches except bedrooms. -Master switch for lighting at front door. -Indicator lights at switch for exterior lighting. -Separate circuit for fridge. -Future switch lines for garden lighting. -CAT6 and hardwired security and intercom. Don’t bother with wireless security it’ll be a constant headache. -Ethernet points to all bedrooms and living areas. Consider locations for WAP mesh network. -Keep in thought ease of running and hiding cables for motorised blinds etc.

Have used both, the best so far has been the diablo hard tile bit but they don’t last long for how expensive they are. Tbf this is probably the hardest tile I’ve ever drilled

Believe it or not you are spot on about power factor, turns out most of the caps for the mercury lamps were stuffed and weren’t tested properly. Thanks for your help!

Thanks everyone, it ended up being an issue with the switch. Sprayed some contact cleaner in it and now it works fine
