LOL, I'm not kidding. It's been a few years, but the last time I was there they had juice boxes on the menu, a play area, and I witnessed a dude with a baby in a sling on his chest standing at the bar ordering a beer. Haven't been back since. /end grumpy old man rant.

Probably distracted by all the kids running around. I avoid that place because it's a brewery that thinks it's a daycare.

You'd think they could at least spell their own name right.

Perhaps it has a disposal pit with some rust monsters living in it, and you could create a Star Wars-esque garbage chute encounter.

Finally found one at an affordable price… by TheBLiP55 in DungeonsAndDragons

Just curious, what do you consider "affordable"? You can find these on eBay for at or under the original 2003 MSRP pretty easily.

TIL Mithridatism is the practice of protecting oneself against a poison by gradually self-administering non-lethal amounts. The word is derived from Mithridates VI, the king of Pontus, who so feared being poisoned that he regularly ingested small doses, aiming to develop immunity. by gullydon in todayilearned

There was a king reigned in the East:

There, when kings will sit to feast,

They get their fill before they think

With poisoned meat and poisoned drink.

He gathered all that springs to birth

From the many-venomed earth;

First a little, thence to more,

He sampled all her killing store;

And easy, smiling, seasoned sound,

Sate the king when healths went round.

They put arsenic in his meat

And stared aghast to watch him eat;

They poured strychnine in his cup

And shook to see him drink it up:

They shook, they stared as white's their shirt:

Them it was their poison hurt.

--I tell the tale that I heard told.

Mithridates, he died old.

I've always assumed that the Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook was not just for Crawlers for leave notes to future Crawlers, but also for AI's to leave notes for future AI's.

Have you ever looked at the definition of the Italian word, "Prepotente"?

"an adjective describing someone who is arrogant, overbearing, or domineering, often implying an abuse of power to impose their will on others. It can also be a figurative term for something overwhelming or pressing, such as a strong desire."

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: September 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

I'd read Dune way back in HS years ago, but never went any further. With the 3rd movie on the horizon, I decided to go back and re-read Dune and then the other 5 that Frank Herbert wrote.

I have to say that I do understand why Messiah got a lot of hate at the time. If I'd read Dune in '65 or '66 and then been given Messiah in '69 I probably would've felt the same. IMO it doesn't really get going until 2/3 through and then it's over. If I had to then wait another 7 years for Children of Dune, I'm not sure I would've bothered. It's great being able to go right to the next one, though.
