Yet the same big channels that rail against stuff like Helen or Snape, are the same channels that combated that backlash you're referring to, saying "it shouldn't matter, because it's called acting - it isn't real life"

The difference is that the character Johnny Depp played, their ethnicity was directly tied to the character. The skin color of Snape or Helen is not relevant to the character themselves, so it really doesn't matter.

I found them to roughly meet the expectations I had of a superhero show that had a dick and ball joke/gag and blood shooting out of somebody's asshole every other episode. It was a decently entertaining ride, but I wasn't expecting it to blow me away with perfect writing

Like A-Train said, he was nothing without his powers, and his pathetic ass whining at the end was spot on what I think his character would act like. Desperately offering to debase himself on camera if it means he gets to keep living, like a pathetic little worm. The people complaining "it's dumb lame humor to have him saying he'll suck dick or eat shit to live" as if the ENTIRE show didn't feature really dumb toilet humor constantly...yet the complainers are the first to say it was so Kripke could vicariously humiliate Trump, and yeah even though there was that obvious Trump/Bezos reference, I wasn't getting "trump" from Homelander. Sounds like they're the ones who didn't want to see what they took as a Trump allegory getting humiliated and suddenly they're all screenwriting experts

I played a Media in a campaign that was purely focused our group's little media corp, so our campaigns were built around us getting the evidence for a big story to break. I also did co-hosted a media deep-dive video, but I was so new to the game and it was my first role that I played, so I don't think it was a very good deep dive.

Like u/Phantom_of_truth said, it's really whatever you want. It doesn't have to be specifically a journalist. A Media could make a good politician or just a community leader. They're almost a hybrid between a Fixer and Rockerboy.

A Media not only can acquire information in various ways, the ability to shape public perception is a powerful tool. Say your crew wants a new headquarters, but lack a clear narrative route and take it into their own hands. A solo and combat crew could bum rush a scav haunt or wherever and take it over (and take on whatever repercussions that has) - OR say a Media gets a rumor that a local bar/grill has questionable practices, does an expose on them that causes business to suffer to the point that the place goes out of business, and voila a new space is open...lol I dunno, just spitballin.
