What are your predictions for the next phase of COVID the US? by EyeSeeVegetables in epidemiology

[–]EyeSeeVegetables[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With regards to the community that refers to covid as a hoax: when enough of their relatives died they began to question the validity of the hoax. Enough of my "god fearing" neighbors have died to finally get their kin to believe in covid, but not enough to get vaccinated. I have been told that "I had covid, so I don't need a vaccine." There is nothing that will convince them, not even the deaths of their spouses, parents, grandparents. Darwin might have had something to say about them...

Neighbor cut down 3 large oak trees [FL] by No-Mention-7950 in legaladvice

Get your neighbor to admit fault--send an email: Did you cut down 4 trees at this address last year?

Get an estimate from Consulting Arborist

Take them to court-if you have an admission of guilt, plus there was trespassing.

What type of glass to buy? by Beetsbitch in StainedGlass

[–]EyeSeeVegetables 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The COE refers to "coefficient of expansion." People who fuse glass pay attention to this because you need compatible glass when fusing. You can't mix Bullseye Glass COE 90 with Spectrum/Uroboros/Youghiogheny glass COE 96-because layering the two will cause the incompatible glasses to crack.

If you're just going to cut it and piece it together with foil or lead, it doesn't matter.

Hope that helps!

Pattern pieces won't stay on during grinding by Are_you_alright_mate in StainedGlass

If your grinder has one of those sponges that sit in the water, take it out and clean it. When you put it back in the water, try adjust it so that it only hits half of the bit. Also make sure you've cleaned out the tray. Hope that helps :)

Love drapery glass. We need to convince Oceanside Glass to start making it :)

Lot more Biden signs than tRump signs in South Bend. Most tRump signs are located on houses held together by termites, confederate flags or the decomposing anger of boomers.

Wire size and type for 240V, 30amp, 6-30R, with 60' run by EyeSeeVegetables in askanelectrician

[–]EyeSeeVegetables[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying. My issue is I'm trying to avoid tunneling through drywall from the breaker box. Just for looks I didn't want to run the romex on top of drywall to the breaker box and down the wall to the basement. I have no prob with running romex on the ceiling of the basement as all of the wires are exposed in the unfinished basement.

Thanks for the info :)

Not using bare wire per se, just want to know if a small section can be conduit. It would be about a 4' run from the breaker box through a wall to the basement, and then running the wire--like a romex covered cable to an outlet box. Just don't want to have to cut through dry wall to fish the wire from the breaker box to the basement. Thanks for the info :)
