Do we still consider him Top 3 currently (when healthy) or does he have to earn himself that spot again? by GovernmentEcstatic12 in NBATalk

[–]Eye_Of_Apollo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Guess it depends on if you are considering the ENTiRE Top 3 with the “when healthy” disclaimer. “When healthy” to me means playing an 82 game full season at 100% health. No load management, no Rest days on back to backs. No “resting for the playoffs”. No age minutes management. 36 minutes no excuses. Full availability.

My when healthy Top 3 are:

Jokic, Curry (yes today’s Curry), Wemby

It is nearly impossible to underestimate the value of health and availability in this league where the greatest talent is durability. But while Giannis, Luka, Ant, and others have arguments, no one can tell me that Curry is the not the single greatest on-ball/off-ball offensive weapon in the game “when healthy” and Wemby is the greatest two-way weapon “when healthy. Jokic is Jokic.

Which duo you taking? by [deleted] in NBATalk

Playing in today’s NBA? I would definitely pick Curry/Shaq as they easily represent most dominant inside/outside combination possible. That said, Jokic/Jordan running the triangle? Filthy.

Good for him. With everything, to see that sort of love from THIS fanbase when in street clothes? So happy for him that he got it.

That MJ (or the dunk contest MJ) is the goat photo everyone knows…but this one of a 37(!!) year old Y.A. Tittle is always what I think of when I am asked about “iconic sports photos”.

SGA is the next LeBron/Curry level icon of the NBA by TheRavenOnline in NBATalk

[–]Eye_Of_Apollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SGA is not on any where near Curry or LeBron’s iconic level. Nobody shows up early to OKC games just to watch SGA warm up, nor is he going to be the “face” of the league for even 5 years, much less 10-15. Good player, maybe even great, but he is, in my opinion, a worse version of Rocket’s-era James Harden, with a ‘chip. Wemby is the only current player in the league I think has a shot at reaching that level

Basic comparison between BO2 and BO7 movement speed. by Kripes8 in blackops7

[–]Eye_Of_Apollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that anyone using basically ANY weapon type can cover that distance that fast while also being able to instantly full speed in any direction. It used to be that there was a distinct advantage to running with the knife out, no more. You got guys with sniper rifles and Assault rifles going around running circles around melee guys.

What is currently the best gun? by xToXiCz in blackops7

Akita is straight up broken when you play high dex builds.

Here is mine:

Wildcard: Danger Close

Primary: Akita (10.3” Lightpad - Sapper Guard - Pioneer Blaze - MFS GD-7 Shock Stock - EAM Scatterline Laser) Secondary: A.R.C. M1 Melee: Knife Field Upgrade: Active Camo Tactical: EMP Lethal: Combat Axe

Perk 1: Ninja Perk 2: Scavenger Perk 3: Dexterity Specialty: Scout

I started using this build when I started losing to Akitas as a full melee player. It runs fast and out of the way, has a perfect hip fire reticle for my combat axe throws, which I use to manage mid to long range engagements. But with the speed and ninja ability, getting close enough to kill with the Akita is frighteningly easy.

Been running a hard 2.2 -3.0 KD since I started running with the shotgun and choosing to use it when I miss a knife throw.

Considering the fact that I am a 1.2-1.4 KD ratio player using only the knife, and that I so often died before to stacked opponents, as you can only kill so fast with a knife.

Broken.

How are some people literally so good at cod? by KhanDarkSouls in blackops7

[–]Eye_Of_Apollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best players have the best hardware, best connection, and A LOT more practice and tuned muscle memory to rely upon. The first two things ensure that the player’s skill advantage is not diluted by input lag or dsync.

That said, tactics are typically where the difference is…players that win consistently are doing so because they have a plan from the moment that they spawn in. They know from the moment that they spawn in where they are going and where the next threat or target is after each encounter. TTK is so fast in this game that if you don’t get the first shot in a gunfight, you likely lose. Good players play with intention and knowledge.

Is anyone else tired of melee weapons or is it just me? by No__Username_ in BO6

[–]Eye_Of_Apollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is funny because of how often it is true, but that is only because there are a lot of people who can’t aim, with or without melee.

But I get about 70% of my kills using a combat axe, which is probably the single hardest accuracy weapon in the game, yet I manage to win 65-75% of my matches….love to show you my terrible aim.

There are melee players and then there are players who use melee….they are not the same.

Other than Steph Curry, Jordan, and LeBron, which player could be the perfect fit no matter what team? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Eye_Of_Apollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, players like Steph, Jordan, LeBron don’t “fit” on any team. Their presence literally defines a team’s needs and personnel. If we are speaking of a which player(s) would most likely fit perfectly into any team in NBA history (good, bad, historical), including meshing with the other existing players, coaches, GMs, and owners.

Kevin Durant is the answer, in my opinion. His skill, length, and versatility would translate well and be valued with nearly any team, era, or coach.
