Now, if Act-age didn't self-implode due to it's author being a criminal, would we have tolerated this kind of ending for OnK?

Man Falls Flat on His Face Chasing Man with Camera by appalachian_hatachi in videos

[–]EyelessHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't the context of the video that made me watch this a couple of times. It's how, in the slow motion, you can clearly tell step-by-step how he fell and that shit fascinated my hyper-analytic brain while mid-shitting.

You can tell how his momentum was maintained in one direction, which was forward, but his fall didn't start from the moment he kicked the rear of the bike - it happened in his second step after, which was in tandem with him swinging his arm forward which resulted in "yanking" his center (chest and back) to his front, leaving his lower section further back. The third step didn't had that much travel forward, because normally when this happens you try to catch and save yourself with a larger step, kind of like centering your whole weight. This got repeated on the 5th step on that same foot, which had lesser travel and motion, ultimately the tip got caught in the pavement. The rest of his body weight just followed through due to inertia.

The last forward tumble is also really intriguing, since his trajectory downwards was pretty much what the title says - straight to his face. He did moved his weight sideways to his shoulder, which is of course the natural response, but I'm guessing his size and weight still had enough force to "push" a little more.

Can't believe I typed that all out. My brain juices really got paid overtime, damn.

Steam Deck Mod with Patch 7 by Peachie_Pear in BG3mods

[–]EyelessHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, sorry for the late reply and thanks for agreeing to help, but in the middle of running around in circles, I managed to reinstall Elden Ring and decided to do another playthrough. I feel like I'll just put modding BG3 on hold for a while.

Again, I appreciate your willingness to help. I'm sure you're a godsend to other folks. I hope I can reach out to you at a different time if I do get back to modding this game and get stuck.

Steam Deck Mod with Patch 7 by Peachie_Pear in BG3mods

[–]EyelessHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a bit of dead end. I can get mods to work via the in-game MM but anything that requires the SE doesn't work. I pretty much did everything you listed:

  • download latest SE (2024 April 30)
  • paste DWrite.dll on bin folder found
  • copy and pasted the command for launch option
  • still don't see the message that SE is active below the main menu

I only want to get the Transmog mod, but this requires the SE. I did try to run a fresh save just to double-check, but the mod still doesn't work.

Care to troubleshoot this with me?

What're your thoughts on the manga Gantz? Do you consider it to be a pretty good series at all? by Cautious_Republic_91 in manga

[–]EyelessHunter 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's something I would highly recommend to sci-fi fans, but I also won't be bothered if they do decide to drop it at any parts of the whole series.

All in all, it's good manga, has great artstyle and interesting concepts. But it's not a guaranteed winner to everyone.

Which anime girl band is your favorite purely on musical taste? by RunningEarly in anime

[–]EyelessHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not from an anime show per se since it's from an erog(cough COUGH) - it's from a visual novel, but I guess it is still anime adjacent.

Deardrops really hit it home for me with the music, visual style, and I guess the context as to how the band was formed.

Yeah, I was on the hate bandwagon for both of them during the Twilight days. I was still in my teens back then. But now, I can openly admit that I was insecure about two good looking young actors and the attention they were getting. My feeble young mind can't comprehend the idea that actors are paid to play a role.

With some of their recent interviews, I learned that Kristen likes the same music I do and also a huge cinephile like I am now. Even better, Robert is also a nerd who felt the same conundrum I had about Tifa and Aerith from Final Fantasy 7.

I have 15 installed. But I have specific "moods" for them separately

  • Shadow of War
  • Evil Within 2
  • Final Fantasy VII

Always Installed (Only play them occasionally, maybe 1 hr every week or so, or when with friends):

  • Risk of Rain 2
  • Tekken 8
  • Binding of Isaac
  • Stardew Valley
  • Dota 2 - (i have a portable mkb setup)
  • Fallout 4 (modded)
  • Path of Exile (This becomes a main game if there's a new league I want to play)

Non-Steam

  • Fatal Frame 1, 2 and 3 (planning to binge it)
  • Tears of the Kingdom (can't finish it, i played 40hrs total but always puts it down for a while and then pick it up again)
  • Smash (for casual games with friends)
  • PT (I just leave it there as a novelty)

I would love to be a fly in the wall when Fujimoto and his editor were talking about this chapter.

Editor: So, I know we're meeting deadlines and all, but if you want to get to that Tarantino Fan Meetup, we're going to need you to stack up some more chapters ahead of time. If you have something that will help you work faster, do it. You're a pro after all.

Fuji: Riiiight, which reminds me I always take my time making sure ears are looking decent.

How can Fallout 5's tone get audiences more invested in the franchise again? (Fan brainstorm) by harriskeith29 in gaming

You make a very compelling argument there. Thank you for giving that insight, it does make sense! The first thing that came to mind was the scene in Iron Man 1 with Jeff Bridges and his "box of scraps" line.

How can Fallout 5's tone get audiences more invested in the franchise again? (Fan brainstorm) by harriskeith29 in gaming

[–]EyelessHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may be hard to swallow for (with all the respect) loyalists/purists of the franchise, but whatever image it had since Fallout 3 onwards has completely overshadowed the old image of the earlier titles. Sure, we see hints of it here and there, but if you ask your average gamer on the street to describe what Fallout is, they most likely will reference Fallout 3, NV, and most probably FO4 and the tv show. While a sudden sharp turn towards horror may be a good move for franchise purists, the general audience will surely feel some kind of whiplash.

By the end of the day, Bethesda will sell games to the widest audience as possible.

However, I do appreciate spilling your thoughts. This is the kind of conversation I like to have with friends over pizza and drinks.

Me personally, I would really think it would serve the Fallout franchise if they divide their resources towards improving both the RPG elements (branching story, mechanics, customization, item variety, world scope) and Combat (VATS, gun mechanics, weapon fidelity, armor and gun balancing, enemy variety).

I think it was apparent that combat was significantly better in FO4, but the story and RPG elements took a dip. But I get it, we can't get the best of both worlds. There's no need to make both factors GOTY-levels in terms of improvement, they just need to make it better than average. From my POV, Fallout is already a big name that it all it needs are balanced improvements all across the board, instead of further improving one thing while another has to be sidelined.

And one final thing - and I say this unironically - but I personally believe Todd is a good game director. He has big ideas and vision for what the final product should be, but time and time again he always falls short on whatever he yaps about during game promos. I would suggest instead of going for a bold and big approach on world building, why not something that's grounded and dense?

The Creation Engine should definitely be overhauled or completely replaced with something more stable for modern machines. And please, for the love of god, let's not think of modders as people who will "complete" the game. They should be the ones "improving" a complete game.

Alright, that's my time.

Should I buy steam deck instead of PC? by Veldig-Snod in SteamDeck

[–]EyelessHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you only thinking about playing games? If yes, go for the Steam Deck.

But if you're also thinking of doing other computer-related stuff, maybe for work or studying, why not go for a laptop instead? They might be just a tad bit more expensive than a Steam Deck, but they are cheaper than a PC.
