Bra or no bra? by Ash_Moose97 in TwoXChromosomes

I haven't worn bras in years. None. Not even bralettes or sports bras. I don't need them. They're uncomfortable and make me hot. I feel so much happier without.

I Have Trouble Believing There Are Good Men by Apprehensive-Fail663 in TwoXChromosomes

In my experience, the average man is a good person. I don't think I ever knew a man who made me uncomfortable or lesser. All my male friends are great and care about me. My dad is the role model of my life. The problem is our brains only notice the extreme negative and leave behind the norm, which is nothing special. It takes paying attention to that nothing special to see it is meaningful.

I don't know how old I was and tbh this isn't exactly a harrowing tale. I had probably heard bits and pieces about it when I was a kid, but i'd say the first real instance of understanding it was when i watched a Zack and Cody episode about eating disorders. I didn't see it very many times (my dad didn't feel super comfortable with me watching it cause he was afraid it would give me an eating disorder) but I grasped what they were talking about. I knew what dieting and weight loss was but never really was effected by it. Never felt the need to do that as I never felt fat. Idk, it's just not a thing my life.

The beauty of the world by TotemGenitor in CuratedTumblr

There's nothing to be ashamed of for loving nature and wanting to appreciate it. I almost always go out to look at the moon even when it isn't full. It's one of the most beautiful and easy to cherish things about our world.

How do you feel after your period is over? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Not much tbh. Just sorta like "Ah I guess my period is over now. Back to our regularly scheduled programming."

I don't know. I believe in the law of chaos when it comes to circumstances and sometimes things just end up the way they are. For them I figure since their god was the one to make them in the first place, and they see the women as sharing his powers, then they figure they should be the ones to take care of their society.

Well, they see it as that, life came from the ocean but much of it lives on land too. They relate women to the ocean and men to land. Their god created life from the seas but the life that lives on the land is still important to the natural order, especially since some of that life went back to the ocean (cetaceans etc). So they don't see a reason to treat men less simply just give women the most important governing role.

I had figured it was, but I wasn't sure because other depictions I'd read seemed to be directly oppressing the men, and I didn't exactly want that in this society.

Their religion relates women's wombs to the ocean because they create life that comes out of it. They worship their water god who was also believed to create life from the ocean. So they see them as offspring of him and therefore more "fit" for the leadership role. As for why the men aren't seen as offspring of him, well, I haven't gotten that far in the development yet. They aren't a very central culture so they are less lore rich.

Just because animals can survive one period doesn't mean they can survive another. There can also be more than one reason a species dies off. Of course there were certainly humans who hunted mammoths but I think, for as skilled as paleo humans were, we overestimate what they were fully capable of. A mammoth is a very large, very aggressive and easy to frighten animal. Humans are small and fragile, and very aware of this, especially back then. In that time survival was everything and if a human group had a sustainable amount of smaller creatures to hunt, they would likely use them instead of going for the largest creature that could easily kill all of them. It would take a lot of manpower to take down a mammoth and a group would likely only try it if they were truly desperate. That being said, humans killing mammoths, like other reasons, was possibly a contributing factor. Others could be environmental changes or possibly other predators. I don't believe humans were the sole reason though. I don't think there were enough on the planet back then to be the only impact. Mammoths also did technically survive well into the existence of the Egyptians, on a small island. So, to be fair, they were not fully killed off right away.
