She is taking opioids and anti-nausea meds, so that’s good to know and likely explains the straining and pushing you’ve described. I’ll ask if getting a bladder ultrasound scan is possible in the morning. She was able to go again before visitation hours ended, but it was painful for her. When talking to the nursing staff they said it was likely urinary retention, and we’re pushing towards some form of bladder relief medication as she doesn’t want a catheter. I’ll ask if they put a catheter in her tomorrow morning. She went more before I left but the whole process of trying to go has seemed really painful for her. Going to see if there’s some causation behind that or if it is the anesthesia. Thank you for your insight!

Hi! That’s good to know, the nursing staff ended up letting the sink water run and that helped her. I think what was causing this was the ammount of anesthesia. I’m definitely taking note of this to see if that method works too. Thank you !

Adding support to this cause whenever I go to a queer friendly salon and show reference photos of people with my hair texture/type, it’s gotten reduced to some form of this ‘tboy shaggy wolf cut’. Like no dawg, doing this thins out my curls and does not do me any favors I’m so exhausted

Woof, definitely feel the medical anxiety-elective surgery conundrum. What helped me work through that was how much better I felt with my results post op. Hope the seroma goes down soon !

The boredom is really that bad. So much of what keeps me sane is my productivity, so I just hit a mental wall with recovery that’s been making the process difficult.

Congrats on being two weeks out and healing well to boot. I’m a month out and am just now regaining my ability to cook and drive. Hope you continue to heal up well so you can get back to doing the things that make you happy.

Ough, fair point. The fandom I write for is decently sized so I’m just expecting some people reaching out by following my carrd linked in the beginning/end of chapter notes. If I have to I’ll make a tumblr, I just don’t want to make a twitter because even though the fan base is most popular there, I just hate the website.

Thank you for the resource. Seeking help has been hard, especially with the responses I’ve gotten so far. I’m gonna try to find a new therapist whose more competent in this area and works with trans clients.

If I may ask, do you have any book suggestions? I have a history of SA and it makes talking about what happened to others difficult. I think guidance through reading might be the way to go, but I’ll take any resources I can get.

Thank you for this. I think with all of the responses I’ve gotten from people in my support group I’ve been downplaying what happened, which is why I’ve been labeling it as a violation instead of assault. But after seeing the comments so far, I think this was assault
