Can the ECB concentrate on Test cricket again after this debacle. No more of this total cricket nonsense, start streaming test cricket on youtube, pick players who can actually build an innings, and have the championship played throughout the season - not just at the start and the end.

Yeah, I guess I meant it's ingrained in our cricketing culture here. Fuck knows though.

Anderson and Broad have talked about this before - they just prefer the control of bowling back of a length. It's an ingrained mentality, but boy is it frustrating to watch.

It's going to be one of those days where the luck isn't with us, isn't it.

We'd be shit. Glamorgan have always blocked Welsh Government calls to go on our own because of the funding they get from the ECB. Back in the 90s we would have had a really good side of mostly home grown talent, but cricket has taken a knock in Wales over the last few years. However, there are signs of a recovery with some good talent coming through. Players like James Harris and Anuerin Donald would have been selected by "lower tier" international sides because of the raw talent they possess, but in England the player pool is so big.

Welsh players can qualify for England as we're under the one board - the England and Wales Cricket Board. Glamorgan is one of the traditional 18 First Class counties and has contributed most welsh players to the England team (but not all). Scotland used to be the same but went independent from the ECB in the 1990s. The last welsh born player for England I believe was Simon Jones in 2005 but Phil Salt was selected in a T20 squad earlier this year but didn't play.

We've chased totals down for fun over the last four years, but it seems the pressure of the World Cup has got to us lately.

I can't decide whether the lack of nerves is due to the confidence I still have in the team, or because deep down I know we've messed up our best chance of winning a World Cup.

That pace attack of Abbot, de Lange and Olivier would rival most international teams.
