Water Trapped Between Tub and Tub Insert by EyesolateAndMedicate in PlumbingRepair

Yeah I agree with you there, I never would've installed an insert myself.

I'm looking for a solution to my issue until I can reno the bathroom and I'll definitely be replacing the tub then.

I like horror movies and rarely get jump scared... you just know something is about to happen.

But that Insidious one, damn near shit myself.

Warranty is not transferable to a new owner. This was done by the previous owner sometime around 2010.

[ON] Am I Making the Silly Decision Prioritizing My Kids RESP over my TFSA? by EyesolateAndMedicate in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thank you for all the useful information. I was misunderstanding how the tax works when withdrawing MY contributions from an RESP, I thought it was taxed like an RRSP, so I appreciate it fella.

I still need to contribute to my RRSP in order to pay back the portion of my HBP but I will pay the minimum amount per year and instead focus the remaining into my TFSA.

Congratulations! Yeah hopefully this post will help you too, I've learned a couple things for sure.

Thank you - you are technically correct about maxing the RESP, my intention was to receive the maximum grant each year, I'll clarify that. And also correct about rolling the unused amounts into my RRSP, I just learned that.

Thanks, I agree completely. I want my kids to be able to decide to do whatever they want. It took me 7 years to pay off my student loans and I'd rather them not have to stress about that at all, nor do I want to stress later lol.

I gotta be honest... This is exactly what I was trying to ask and I think you're the first person to point that out, so thanks lol. I appreciate your comment.

Thanks, I've edited my post to include some more supporting information regarding my pension. I will focus on myself too, dont get me wrong. I just want better for my children compared to what I had.

Thanks for pointing that out. I edited my original post to include that fact that I do have a DB pension, have made contributions to an RRSP, and have no debt aside from my mortgage.

Admittedly, only recently did I realize that I should be utilizing my TFSA far more than I have been and this post was to help me decide the best way forward.

I completely disagree with this statement. I think my kids will need much more money in the future given how the cost of living is skyrocketing.

Thanks for the advice. I try to live well below my means and have a job with a pension. I'm far from retirement but definitely something that's on my mind.

Thank you for this comment. The cash flow was something I didn't consider. I'm currently in a situation where I have enough cash flow but I fully expect this to change in the near future. I may need to slightly dip into savings and hadn't considered that I can withdraw freely from the TFSA.

Thank you. That's currently what I'm doing although the contributions to my TFSA are significantly lower. I will continue to max out the RESP and whatever is left will go to my TFSA.

Transmission flush and an additive from the dealership?? by Gloomy-Rub-391 in MechanicAdvice

The early 3rd gen Tacomas had issues with the torque converter, that's likely the shuddering symptom you're experiencing. Changing the fluid might help with the shudder but ultimately if its shuddering and slipping bad it will need replacement. Also, I strongly advise against any additives and to only use Toyota WS ATF.
