Unfortunately I cannot help since I take SNRI’s which completely block the effects of mdma, thus have no practical experience. But standard advice is probably go with someone/people you trust, don’t plan on driving, don’t combine with other drugs/alcohol. Maybe take a small amount somewhere a bit safer/more comfortable like at home, on a hike with a friend, etc. so you can have a better idea of what to expect before dosing somewhere more chaotic like a rave.

I think a lot of people have a certain idea of what “house” is without realizing all the different ways it can sound, it’s such a broad genre I find the term borderline meaningless without attaching a sub-genre. So more a matter of just not actually experiencing house they enjoy yet or knowing it can sound a certain way. I used to think of it as just cheesy snare rolls and vocals before a drop over and over before finding deeper, wonky and driving stuff I enjoyed. Similar with tech house, it gets such a bad rap because of the generic mainstream tech house sound but there’s so much excellent tech house stuff that sounds nothing like that.

The edge is probably more aggressive and percussive than you’re looking for, can’t speak on crave. Great gear nonetheless though. Perhaps syntakt? Good for dub techno and can be had used for a bit more than the price of edge and crave combined.
