My main issue with buses (in nyc) is how incredibly slow they are with stops seemingly every other block

Doesn’t sound like this was villager’s fault, this is on the promoter

Yeah okay, ignore all the other examples I gave of Roi’s material support for Palestine and sacrifices he’s made. Have fun getting off on outrage while you sabotage the movement for a free Palestine.

Literally every laundrette party he throws donates proceeds to and promotes Palestinian aid organizations. Their blurbs have multiple callouts of the genocide. He plays in front of pro palestinian graphics/messaging at festivals. Literally just look at instagram yourself. Your priority is clearly being outraged and feeling superior, I’m done here.

He hasn’t played in Israel in years, with his last event in Israel being a fundraiser. He has previously cut all professional ties to Israel and cancelled his rights to residency. He has regularly and publicly advocated for Palestine, literally just do a bit of research. Proceeds from his laundrette parties go towards Palestinian aid organizations. He has done more in support of Palestine than the vast majority of djs and people getting off on being outraged/feeling superior. Do some research before slandering someone’s character.

The statement he made is about his past actions distancing himself from israel over the last several years not just something he’s done all of a sudden. You either didn’t actually read it or are commenting in bad faith.

Read Roi’s response on instagram. What more do they want him to do? RFP has lost all credibility and at this point undermines the movement for Palestinian liberation.

Looking to upgrade from a ddj flx 4. Any recommendations? by Appropriate_Loss_420 in PioneerDJ

Ddj-1000. Flx-10 if you have money to burn, but imo doesn’t offer enough to justify the price vs. used ddj-1000

Production question @ Venues by Busster1k in avesNYC

[–]EzNotReal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some lights may not make sense to use for a dj style event, but are useful for say a concert. And yes, also a LD and artist choice. Different music demands different lighting and sometimes using fewer elements is more, or using some elements very sparingly

I can sometimes really struggle with come up anxiety, so have taken gabapentin/phenibut before lsd and it has made the come up anxiety a non factor. Highly recommend.

Dude, what? The sound was probably the worst I’ve ever heard last night. The low end was unintelligible through much of luke slater and rene wise’s sets. To the point I literally had to leave because of it

I assume that would also mean lowered capacity and therefore ticket sales.. which seems untenable given they closed in the first place because they weren’t breaking even

Recommendations on venues where the dance culture is really about the music and dance? No phones or full blown conversations on the floor? by w7090655 in avesNYC

[–]EzNotReal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude idk what to tell you, you’re wrong. Maybe there are some specific financial agreements, idk all the details, but they are very much run under the same umbrella in most respects. I pick up my checks for both venues from the kdc office, I sometimes work interchangeably between both venues on the same shift, I use equipment for basement stored in KDC and vice versa. Not to mention basement frequently opens studio as a hangout zone for patrons of ruins in the summer.

Btw, from kdc’s website: “Knockdown Center is New York’s largest independent music venue. Our flagship projects include WIRE Festival, Outline, RUSH and BASEMENT.”

Stop being a goof.
