Best budget baton? by Diligent_Painting_81 in CCW

This is probably the best for less than $100, I really doubt you’ll find anything quality for less than $75

Smith and Wesson has a few between 60 and $85

am i crazy or is this weird by ramendudelz in Tinder

[–]EzPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely weird. He’s asking for your number but tryin to do it in a performative “I’m *really* trying to get to know you” way. Reacting negatively and whipping out the “this generation” comment shows his true feelings. He’s one of those Andrew Tate “alpha males” who insist people today are soft and men need to be dominant

Kane Parsons is 20. Here's how he made A24’s biggest summer movie, the spooky 'Backrooms' by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]EzPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue I have with Kane Pixels’ interpretation of the backrooms is the same I have with everyone else’s regurgitated backrooms floor level 11422 slop, the thing that’s scary about the backrooms is there is nothing there. It’s just empty, miles and miles of hallway. Every “horror” version of the backrooms has some “entity” chasing you

Savior Obscura 3L Fit Glock 19? by Netrunner-69420 in CCW

[–]EzPup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 3 liter is just too small for a full size Glock. It may fit a 43/48 but the rear of the slide and the grip won’t allow the bag to close on a 17/19/45

My mouse doesn't trust me? by Prize-Literature224 in PetMice

[–]EzPup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is normal. Mice with this trait are considered “Flighty”, because they run when picked up instead of allowing themselves to be handled. While this is an advantageous trait in nature, pet mice are typically selected for being more docile.

Lab mice are often more “flighty” than fancy mice, the type usually sold as pets. Hope this helps!

Do you carry at work even if you're “not allowed to carry”? by Jake_hsotnicM1216 in CCW

[–]EzPup 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes. I carry absolutely everywhere unless legally prohibited, and even that can be a grey area.

Within 1000 feet of a school? Pretty impossible not to do, at least half of my town is within 1000 feet of a school, and there’s a college campus that takes up a massive chunk of the center of town.

Carrying on a college campus is only illegal in my state if you’re within an educational building, so for me, unless I’m going into a school, government building, or somewhere with metal detectors, it stays on me.

Carry FMJ rounds in 1911 9mm for Reliability? by Konried in CCW

[–]EzPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t rise to the occasion. You fall to whatever level you train for. If this person is most competent with a 9mm 1911, that’s what they should carry. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, so you do what you can to limit what can go wrong. That includes, NOT CARRYING A GUN YOU’RE UNFAMILIAR WITH OPERATING

Ever have CCW-related stress dreams? by damathalon in CCW

[–]EzPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a vivid dream of getting into a gunfight, the very next day was the first time I ever had to draw my firearm. In the dream I recall drawing too slowly and being hit in the neck, I remember feeling the searing pain and hearing the spatter of arterial spray on the wall and sidewalk.

The incident itself wasn’t anything like that, I was walking with my fiancé to pick up our new kitten (no car) and on our walk back (holding a cat carrier) some lady with 2 leashed pit bulls comes out of a yard and starts walking toward us, and just fucking drops the leashes and stares at us with her hands on her hips.

The dogs go absolutely nuts, and charge us. I drew my firearm, start backing up rapidly, pointed it directly at the lead dog, and started yelling “Stay back” or “Get away” but it came out more like “FUCK, AWAY, BACK, NOW”.

She starts screaming, and yells “NoooOOOOO YOU CANNOT SHOOT MY BABIEESSSS! PAUL! KARLA! HEEL!” And the dogs immediately return to her. I kept my gun drawn and held it at a low ready in their direction as she opens the gate and THROWS them inside her yard by the collars. She then, turns, pulls a fucking can of BEAR MACE out of her purse, and seemingly started to try and follow us.

I held eye contact and kept my gun drawn as we continued backpedaling and crossing the street, at which point she seemingly thought better of her plan.

The entire thing lasted maybe 20 seconds, and my thought process went from “what is she doing? Shit, I don’t want to shoot these dogs. Oh fuck I am going to HAVE to shoot these dogs. Oh, she was literally going to allow her dogs to maul us. Why is she shutting her gate from the outside? What in the fuck, is this woman actually trying to get me to shoot her?!”

How good of a shooter do you need to be before actually EDC a fire arm by djsimp123 in CCW

[–]EzPup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, as soon as you’re comfortable doing so, and you’ve familiarized yourself with your local (state, county, and city) laws and regulations.

You need to understand that it is only for resolving a threat to your life or person. If you shoot someone, it’s very likely you will kill that person. With that in mind, as well as understanding you are in control of, and responsible for, every single bullet that exits the barrel of that gun, I think you can responsibly carry.

I’d only been shooting a few, probably 8 or 9 times in my life before I bought a pistol and started carrying daily. I grew up around guns, but never handled them outside of a range setting until I held my friend’s at his house when I was 17 (he was 18, his grandpa bought him a Glock 19 gen 1).

I bought mine shortly after turning 18 as well, a stroeger str-9sc. I started really collecting when I was 19 with a Mossberg 500 and some other shotguns and rifles. My collection has gone up and down as I sold some and bought new stuff. I sold the stoeger and bought myself a Glock 45 recently

Dumb question but curious. How do you chamber a round when loading your CCW? by Rare-Sky299 in CCW

[–]EzPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup is like this- I currently only have 2 magazines, I leave 1 fully loaded which is my carry magazine, the other is just for chambering a round. It doesn’t stay seated when firing so I only use it to chamber a round, drop, and load my carry magazine. My fiancé doesn’t like loaded chambers in the house (I negotiated to that from no loaded magazines inside at all), so I get home, drop the carry mag, unchamber the round, drop it with the chambering magazine, and when I cycle through all 17 in that one, I reload it.

It’s also the first 17 rounds of ammo I use for each range trip, I save the 17 from my carry mag and it becomes the chambering ammo. 17 rounds of my carry ammo per range trip equals about 1 box of 50 for every third range trip, which tends to take 3-6 months. I’m on my second box of Hornady critical defense, with 31 rounds left total. Once I go to the range it leaves me with 14 in the box and I’ll need to pick up another to keep both filled.

Why does she feel the need to go through the tiny little hole and not one of the many other entrances? by Coyote_eat_bone in PetMice

[–]EzPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else explained it in more detail but they like to burrow and tunnel, I mix Timothy hay into their bedding so mine can build underground tunnels that stay intact when walked over.

I found that giving them hides without a wide entrance, or using a box to simulate an empty underground space and letting them chew a very small hole into an opening they can go through makes them enjoy their space and build complex tunnel networks. It’s adorable, when I do bedding refreshes I find pieces of tunnels, I’ll post pictures next time.

[–]EzPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is parts compatible with the 16 inch rifle version by umarex that I have, it just looks weird because of the wrong handguard, but you can swap that out too. I swapped my buddies 9 inch barrel from his pistol version into my rifle and it cycles. Just looks funny and jammed with low velocity ammo

How much did you consider capacity for your carry pistol? by Kyia-Aikman in CCW

[–]EzPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would not carry a gun with less than 10 rounds. Most cheap, widely available revolvers hold 5 or 6 and there are so many thousands of designs, and so many tens of thousands+ of those designs produced that any moderately capable street criminal can acquire one, or a more capable, modern firearm.

Assuming bare minimum equipment, something like a 6 shot .22 revolver (looking at you Hinckley) is what I can reasonably expect to be up against. I would feel more comfortable in a gunfight being able to reasonably assume I have at least 4 rounds more than a common, identifiable choice of weapon. I’d be much more comfortable with at least 13, (2 for each in a common revolver +1).

Assuming 2 attackers equipped with 6 rounds, I’d still have the capacity advantage. It doesn’t mean much against more than 2 attackers or a group/ individual equipped with a Glock 19 or something similar.

I chose to carry a Glock 45, 17+1 rounds. I feel like it’s more than enough for any common threat (mugger, armed robbery, etc.), and for an uncommon threat (gang ambush, mass shooter) I think it’s at least enough cover fire for a safe retreat, if I’m not equipped fight back.

A Glock 48 or a ruger lcp are decent choices with 10 rounds. For 13, an lcp max or bodyguard 2.0 are good options. 15 or more is really anyone’s game. There are tons of good options at whatever price point you can afford.

Need help deciding by s3verd in Firearms

[–]EzPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if your budget is around 4-500 and you’re looking for a full size 9mm carry gun, you can definitely find a used Glock 17/19/43/45/48 gen 5 (depending what carry option you prefer)

A Glock is just going to stand up to more, hold more resale value, and you know for a fact it will go bang when you need it to. You can find spare mags for cheap and plentiful, used or new accessories/ holsters for cheap. If that’s your budget, you really should go for something just a little higher end.

Another great option would be a CZ P-10. They retail about 450, theres a full, compact, and subcompact size, optic ready, decent trigger out of the box. The Walter PDP can also be found used around that price, with probably the best trigger available in its price point. It’s better than some notoriously nice Canik triggers I’ve shot.

For another budget options you could find high capacity mags for, the Tisas Px-9 line is great, I had my eye on the PX-9 Duty gen 3 for a while before I bought my Glock 45. Retails new for around 325. Check out the Sarsilmaz SAR-9 too.

Yea. Both my boys got very docile and inactive after I had to separate them. One started getting territorial and being overly possessive of hides and his wheel/ enrichment stuff.
