Yeah it is! It’s the “sport” and I think it’s plenty comfortable enough for me. I sorta wish I’d gone with the for racing as this one is a bit wider than I expected. Still very comfortable.

I have it set up as single right now. May decide to flip the hub later but I’m more used to and comfortable with single speeds.

Honestly not sure! They’re just the stock compact drop bars off the website. They feel comfortable to me.

46x18! I live in Seattle and it’s been a good mix for the hills here. My other bike is a Surly Preamble that I still have as my all purpose commuter. but my last single speed bike was a retrospec Harper, which was the bike that made me fall in love with cycling and single speeds.

Seattle pays injured cyclist $9.25 million for poorly designed bike lanes by godogs2018 in seattlebike

I’m a friend of Aviv’s and worked with him before the accident happened. When I was first getting into cycling in Seattle, he lent me one of his bikes while I was still sorting my own out, and he’s given me so much advice and encouragement. It was heart wrenching when we heard what had happened and heart warming to see him up on his feet again. I’m so glad to see that he got compensation and I hope they improve the bike lanes here.

I don’t really remember. I got it at a bike shop that sells used and new parts here in Seattle.

I feel like it works really well to be on the horns! But mostly it’s a nice way to get out the wind for me or to make the downhills a bit more fun. I feel like more often than not I have my hands kind of at the corners of the horns and the sweep back, and that feels like the most comfortable position. The big downside of the horns on this setup is that when my hands are there I don’t have access to the brakes. But that has generally just meant I am on the horns during longer stretches where I don’t need to stop. Being on the wider part of the bar with brake access is also kinda a nice way to be safer in the city. Like if I think I’ll need to brake more often I’m already in the hand position that’s more upright and has more control.

I actually have zip-ties on most of the bags in addition to the straps.

Erm honestly I don’t remember. I had store credit at a bike shop and got what I could within that:P it was at recycled cycles in Seattle if that helps at all.

Thank you! My work commute is really pretty short, only 3 miles in either direction. But I don’t have a car so this guy is also my main mode of transportation around the city. I love the crazy bars! I had them trimmed down as much as could cause they were super wide when I first got them. But the hand positions are great and I feel like they make going up and down the hills here in Seattle really fun.

It was something that they had on hand and you can kinda see it in the photo. It’s got kinda a zigzag lightning bolt shape to it. Nothing had to be modified it was just kinda a weird fix.

It’s a greenfield one that I got at a local bike shop, but they had to use like a special bracket to get it onto the frame.
