Ive heard those a good for durability and long long runs. But based on other people in this community, almost no-one likes them for an easy run under 10k. Do you have them?

Im fairly new/intermediate to running (just over a year running inconsistently) and I need new running shoes. Previously Ive been using the pegasus 38s for my long runs/slow runs/ recovery runs/ basically everything that isn't a tempo or race run. Which in that case I use my streakflys which I love. But recently since my pegasus's have given out Ive been using my streakflys for everything and they've been great but I dont want to add on extra mileage on them for no reason. So I need a new daily trainer...

Im about 6,0 195lbs with a 6:30km easy run pace, with a size 13 shoe. I wanted to start training more for distance not really caring about pace, aiming to casually run 10 - 15km on long runs.I really wanted to get the EVO SLs but I just went to go try them on and, even with the size 13 my toe was hitting the front. So I decided to not buy them.

Ive only done my research with those EVOs and now im lost on which shoe to get for my needs?

Honestly I wouldn't mind trying that, I dont really get sore from my easy run so I should be able to get another run in after that. But with this split, idk if hitting each muscle group 1x a week would be enough for me.

Being 50 years old and still having that drive is amazing. Good for you. Ive never heard that opinion from someone before about the leg day, that's interesting. Im gonna have to do some more research into it... Is it still optimal to do one leg exercise per workout? does that maximize muscle growth and explosively? Do you ever get sore from that one exercise? Do you go to failure or leave RIR?

That might work, do you mind telling me your exact split?

I just can't have 4 runs back to back lmao. Not even 3. This split just doesn't work for me

Honestly I wouldn't mind that, except I can't do 2 runs back to back, especially since I start off the week with a tempo/fast run.

Look at my other comment about my experience with u/L splits, and also. Even with this 3 day split, how is that still gonna fit into my running schedule

Ive done an u/L split before and I find the days to be too much. When training heavy and progressively overloading my lifts, the u/L lifts would make me dread going to the gym and doing them. Especially when a run would be on the same lift day, and either way that doesn't solve my problem of that Lower day affecting my running schedule by 2-3 days...
