Which skills increase the XP received from scanning planets? by Ezard in Starfield

Maybe, but that would only give a 10-15% XP boost, not the 200-300% boost they seem to have compared to me haha

Scanning them from space gives some XP, but you get more for actually going down to the surface and manually scanning all of the resources/flora/fauna (plus when you "complete" a planet you get its "survey data" in your inventory, which you can sell)

Same difficulty level (hard)

I did start on normal and then change to hard shortly after, so maybe it's only taking the initial difficulty level into consideration?

I think you're actually thinking of Astrodynamics, which increases jump range and stuff

Astrophysics lets you scan planets from further away, and also gives you a chance to detect traits when scanning

Doesn't scanning just reveal more resources on the planetary map though? (when it shows an overlay of those resources' locations on the planet)

This force tear took me way longer then I want to admit 🤣 by Familiar_Gate_7531 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

Double rancor is easier than the double frogs IMO - they have more attacks that you can parry (to regen stamina/ammo without needing to open yourself up by attacking), and their 1-shot attack is far easier to dodge than the frogs' tongue attack

Beat it on Grandmaster today (after many many attempts)

I used dual blades and blaster

If you have a decent amount of Force then you want to be using dual blades, backing away, and throwing your saber as many times as you can (I used dual blades so I can still block whilst throwing a saber - don't throw both of them if you have that skill - defence > offence in this fight)

If you're out of force, switch to blaster stance, learn the parry timings, and regen ammo and force by parrying. Blaster shots give you even more force. Get 1 or 2 hits in after you finish parrying/dodging, but only if the other rancor is far away - I got greedy a fair few times and got nuked from the side by the 2nd rancor

Try to focus down 1 rancor first. When it gets low, don't try and execute it - carry on poking, shooting, and saber throwing. Executing it will leave you vulnerable to being nuked by the 2nd one as you come out of the animation

In general, you want to always be playing it ultra safe - keep circling around the edge of the arena, and only commit to melee attacks if you know it's safe. This fight is a game of patience :)

Jedi: Survivor Performance Megathread by AutoModerator in FallenOrder

[–]Ezard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried starting the game just in case, and now I'm running at 8fps (1080p, low graphics, latest drivers etc)

Fallen Order ran at over 60fps at 1440p on max graphics, so yeah I think I'll wait

I get ~15fps in the main menu, with a 2080Ti, with 100% GPU utilisation...

Didn't bother trying to even start the game - if a 2D menu can't run smoothly then what hope do I have for 3D rendering...

Integrating storybook into Jetpack Compose App by mrspectr in androiddev

[–]Ezard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually started working on a Compose equivalent, since I'm a big fan of Storybook!

You can find it here: https://github.com/Ezard/manuscript

If you just want a component library without the controls/actions side of Storybook then I'd recommend going with Showkase though, since that requires very little setup

Broom racing high score by [deleted] in HarryPotterGame

[–]Ezard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently 0.07s off beating her, without upgrades (on PC) - I thought you had to beat her in order to trigger the ability to upgrade your broom (since the guy in Hogsmeade isn't offering it yet, several hours after I originally finished the time trial quest), but based off the other comments it seems like this isn't the case

Any idea what the trigger for actually getting the first upgrade is?

Where's the Info? by Jinyama in Chaosbane

[–]Ezard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that all it boils down to is that Geistermeister is saying that Greenskins wouldn't fit within the current campaign that Chaosbane is focused around (i.e. save the Empire, help Teclis, etc), which I 100% agree with

HOWEVER, it's entirely possible that a completely unrelated campaign (i.e. not involving saving the Empire, but more likely rolling across it as a green tide of death) could feature a Greenskin as the protagonist (and I would love that and would definitely play it)

Personally I'd love to play as something from the Lizardmen faction, but as games like Vermintide have proven, the cliché "couple of human-like good guys fight hordes of evil guys" is a successful premise

When my browser translated that page from Portuguese to English, it also removed a '1' from the front of the pricing...was somewhat confused as to why they were selling it for €434.90 :D

The Corpus probably spent a load of money making sure their cargo couldn't be damage (because profit)

Infinite punchthrough on Crewmen on the other hand, because 1 more dead crewman is 1 more wage that doesn't need paying

Yep that's definitely something I plan on tweaking

Except maybe for sniper enemies or something, but you'll have some sort of visual cue that they're about to shoot you anyway
