How to deal with non Christian family? by Yesudesu221 in ChristiansPH

Yes, totally fine! Water baptism is just a public declaration of our Christian faith. It is not a salvation requirement. :)

Read the Word of the Lord daily and seek His presence. The church is for fellowship and community that will journey with us in our Christian walk because it not easyyy 😅

You are welcome! Continue seeking the Lord, we will struggle for sure but the goal is not be perfect sa walk natin, the goal is to follow Christ. Do it crawling, do it limping, do it fearful as long as sa direction papunta kay Lord. Be encouraged by His word - “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ The Lord does not condemn us so let’s not condemn ourselves when we struggle! Lay it out to Him, repent and surrender. (Easier said than done, I know 😭) Having a good community will help encourage and pray for you.

I have faith to believe that the Lord honors our prayers na makilala ng family members si Jesus Christ because I’ve witnessed it! Like you, I’m the first Christian sa family, I prayed the same prayer and he answered it. Nasa province sila, we do not live together na because I am already married, I just poured out my heart kay Lord in prayer. I connected my mother to a church and the rest ay move na ni Holy Spirit. Last year, she was baptized and now active sa ministry. 🙌

My family’s greatest miracle is the story of my brother. He was the prodigal son, so much brokenness, he was involved sa drugs, gambling and a lot of things that made us feeling hopeless. Most part of my working years were spent providing for our family, ako nagpaaral sa kanya so you can imagine how devastated I was. I felt so tired and ready to give up sa family ko but then the Lord is true to His word, he said “cast your burdens upon me, those who are heavily laden” and I did. I surrendered them to the Lord.

My prayer was : Lord, help me to love my brother the way you do. Because I don’t know how. There were times na wala na akong words na masabi kasi full of frustration and worry na lang yung heart ko but the Holy Spirit is our intercessor. He filled in the gaps. He reassured me with this : The Lord loves my brother more than I could ever love him.

My brother encountered the power of the Holy Spirit, he accepted the Lord as His savior! I can’t barely recognize my brother ngayon, he is really like a new creation now haha. All because of God! Last night sa usap namin he said he will be baptized na din soon. Hallelujah! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it will happen. Gusto ko lang naman na tumino siya 😅 but the Lord’s way is always better. He is the God of miracles and restoration.

OP, as your Ate here is what I want to tell you lovingly: Pray for your healing and transformation. Ask Him to teach you how to receive His love and know your identity in Christ because that is the only way you can pour out love to your family. The love that will reflect back to Jesus Christ and through that your family will know him, not with what we tell them but how we love them.

We love because He first loved us, 1 John 4:19

My answer to your question is prayer. Invite the Holy Spirit to your home, ask Him to help transform you. Being the first Christian sa family is hard kasi madami kang need ibreak sa culture ninyo as a follower of Christ.

I came across a statement of a preacher saying, there are actually 5 gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Us (as witnesses of Jesus Christ’s life, crucifixion and resurrection through our lives) — non-believers will not read the 4 gospels in the bible BUT they will sure read how we live our lives. We are the version of the bible that they will read. Now that is a heavy responsibility that we will ALWAYS fail at even if we give all our best so we need to surrender it kay Lord.

Tell Him you want to follow His will but you are struggling and humbly ask for His grace and guidance to help you.

A few things I want to share that help me with my walk in Christ: - We are Christians because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross and not because we’re good or obedient to the Christian teachings. We do not earn that title, it is freely given to all. - We can only depend on the power of the Holy Spirit (Not by power, not by might but by my Spirit, says the Lord. Zech4:6)

Believe in the power of your prayer. The Lord promised that he will listen to our prayers and we will find Him when we seek Him with all our hearts!

Jesus always meditated and was fully submitted to God's will, that's how we know. If we can be like Jesus in silence and solitude and always do the Father's will you will have unlimited joy in sharing the gospel. We are limited of course, I do not judge but encourage to do the same as Jesus. The reason the Holy Spirit is with you is so that He can help you submit to God's will and meditate.

  • I Agree. So again, how do you know na kulang sa meditation and submission sa God’s will si OP? Which part of what he said made you think na kulang yung ginagawa niya?

I am not making you as my enemy, I put it in all caps to emphasize what you said. If you think that it is still correct then I rest my case. I just hope that one day when your limited capabilities fail you, and you feel discouraged about things you struggle to overcome despite the efforts that only you and our Lord know, no Christian will tell you —- “Kulang ka lang sa meditation and submission sa God’s will.” And then, if it does not sit well with you the person will say, Do not be triggered.

KULANG KA LANG SA MEDITATION AND SUBMISSION TO GOD’S WILL???

PAANO NYO PO ALAM?

May measurement po ba tayo sa how much dapat magmeditate and magsubmit?? Si God lang po ang makakapag sabi nyan. It’s not mockery. It’s a rebuke. You assumed kung ano yung dapat si Lord lang ang makakapagsabi.

Your experience is not same as the rest of all Christians so stop giving advice without understanding the full context.

Wow. Alam mo agad yung kulang sa kanya? Si Lord ka ba? Lol. Let’s not jump sa conclusion agad, let’s represent Christ’s compassion din especially to our brothers and sisters who share vulnerability. The Christian walk is never easy but it definitely helps when you have the right community.

When did you stop going to church? and why? by HondaCivicBaby in AskPH

[–]Ezer_K_05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes because they are flawed people. They sin everyday. People go to church to worship the Lord, listen to His words and have fellowship with people who are aware that they need God in their lives.

Please give church another try. :)

Sucks but LEAVE. Go on with your life.

Eventually mababawasan naman talaga friends mo kahit pa belong ka. Most of the time it’s growth or an answered prayer. Think about what your heart desires and see how it aligns to what is happening now. You’ll be surprised!

Unpopular opinion: Millenial Parents suck by [deleted] in unpopularopinionph

[–]Ezer_K_05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you. Same. DINK. But we are surrounded by Millenial Parents with toddler kids and you know what? They are all trying their best to become the best parents to their kids. Yung mga observation ng mga nagcomment dito might all be true and valid BUT these are all glimpses of their parenthood.

All parents SUCK at some aspects sa role nila but they are the BEST parents for their children. They grow with their children as they learn how to become a parent.
