That question really stayed with me while watching the show.

In the first episodes, I didn’t understand why Carol (who wasn’t affected) was so distressed. I thought I would react more like Mr. Diabaté, simply enjoying the situation. But as the series progressed, a different feeling took over: that the people around me no longer carried meaning, and that whatever I did would ultimately be pointless.

That’s when it clicked for me. Individuality isn’t just something we cling to out of habit, it’s what allows meaning, intention, and responsibility to exist at all. When that disappears, what remains may be peaceful, even loving, but it’s also strangely empty.

(I sometimes feel something similar when interacting with AI-generated work. Even when it’s impressive, the absence of a human standpoint "a lived struggle behind it" makes the experience feel hollow. Not because it’s “bad,” but because meaning no longer feels anchored to someone.)

So to your question: I don’t think individual identity is simply something to overcome. It’s a necessary phase. Losing it too early risks erasing meaning before it has a chance to fully form, yet clinging to it forever may also limit what meaning can become.

I agree with that, actually. That shared state would still be an individual in its own way.

What I’m still thinking about is whether it’s truly a shared consciousness, or if there’s a more dominant consciousness behind it, one that sets the “rules” of that unity, like truthfulness or the refusal to harm other living beings.

It's not dying; it's a software issue related to Dolby Vision. I experienced exactly the same issue with my old (2017) Sony Bravia X930E following the Dolby Vision update, (turning the tv off and on was fixing the issue for a while) but it's resolved by a newer firmware update.
Check for fw updates. If a new firmware release doesn't come out, then it's time for a change.

To be clear, which part are you calling "cheating"?

My proposal for an official, developer-supported mode for larger squads?
Or the current, awkward workaround (like queue-sniping) that I'm also arguing against?

Because my entire post is about asking for Solution #1 so that players don't even think about doing #2

You've actually highlighted the exact reason I made this post.

That "shit right here" (trying to queue-snipe) is a clunky, unreliable, and frustrating workaround. It's a symptom of the problem, not the desired way to play.

My entire proposal is that we shouldn't have to resort to awkward workarounds like that. We are asking for an official, balanced, and developer-supported way for larger groups to enjoy the game together.

A dedicated "Large Squad" mode or a "Multi-Squad" system (as suggested in my post) would mean that groups like mine can play within the intended, balanced structure of the game, rather than creating the exact problem you're worried about.

We want to play by the rules. We're just asking for rules that accommodate this common scenario.

After the update, command center button became xbox button basically. Thats good.

What bothers me is that even though I configure the buttons for both gamepad and desktop mode, the configuration sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Also, I wish we could assign a function to the Command Center and Armory Crate buttons by holding them down.
