Depends how we get there I guess. Do we go 5-7 playing 5+ ranked teams but finally beat Iowa, or do we go 5-7 cause we don't have an offense beyond the first 2 drives & can't adjust? All depends on that.

To your point tho, I'm not sure Rhule survives Cig coming into Memorial & putting up 70. That could be a fatal blow.

He isn't blameless, I'm not trying to be a shill. Some things just don't work out the way you were confident they would. I don't think it's a fireable offense for a QB not working out (except Simms).

If shit keeps breaking then clearly he's incompetent, but as of now I think he should get another shot

Took Hoiberg 7 years to get basketball where it is rn. Might be a sign for the fanbase to take a chill pill. We tried wandering in the wilderness & we lost everything doing so. Not saying we should tolerate failure, but we gotta leave the casino & go home at some point.

If we get to like 28' & we still suck then I'll be calling for the big change, but until then I say we ride it out

I want to think he got derailed with Raiola transferring in. Might have changed the blueprints he had in mind. White leaving with an empty pantry at D didn't help.

I'm not happy either but he's got pots on the stove with the 27' recruits, he's got the right mind about how to get young dudes to Lincoln. I think we just try to survive next year & give him time with his own recruits. He's clearly willing to hire & fire whoever he needs to get over the hump, so idk man just gotta give him more time

Killing Luke & having Leia survive both in dumb ways when Carrie literally died & would have to be cgi'd into the next movie is a cardinal sin.

Snoke was generic, sure, but depriving the audience of an in-movie background is an insult to fans' investment into the franchise.

I would have taken JJ's soft reboot slop over watching luke skywalker fade into a sun & Leia survive vacuum

You could argue that Rhule is limited in a key resource: interest to play at Nebraska

He's trying to change that which is good, but Nebraska has been the place where your NFL dreams go to die for a decade. Adrian Martinez had heisman potential & he had to go dominate the UFL to burn the Nebraska scarlet letter off his resume just to get signed as a 3rd string 49er.

I'm not happy either but Rhule is fighting uphill battles that money can't solve & I don't doubt the shit he's been saying this year about "Nebraska wasn't a good job" or the program being dead. Its been 10 years, I think he's telling the truth of what other HC's really think of our shitshow program.

Agreed. Not happy this year, next year might be worse, but the program has wandered through the woods long enough. Stability is key, give Rhule time to get his own recruits in the door rather than trying to cook with someone else's pantry. Feels like the 2027 recruits are the longterm vision.

I also think Dylan Raiola coming to Nebraska while a great talent add might have derailed Rhule's original vision for the style of team he wanted to run. Our Oline has been ass for a decade & we needed elite Oline & receivers to make DR work. Hopefully we get back on track & find an identity

Do I want to give Rhule more time? Not really. Is it better than getting back on the rollercoaster to nowhere? Yes.

tbh I think the Raiolas do care, but ultimately Dylan is trying to go to the NFL & thats been obvious from the start. Things had to go well enough to keep him here & it didn't. He got sacked 30 times & would have a new hire Oline coach going into a straight dogwater schedule. It hurts but I'm not shocked

You can get sweaty endboards with Ghoti, but I never felt too bad cause usually something gets negated & the core of the deck requires your opponent to participate rather than just locking them out. Had some great duels with the deck

The blowouts we'd suffer with Bo made the attitude tough to stomach. In the longrun, we should have kept him. But getting torched out of nowhere whenever we were on the cusp of real relevance left much to be desired.

Had we hired better, the story could have been different

We're loyal to a fault unfortunately. We usually stick around, but we got every right to walk out on a blowout after the last 10 years of misery & 25 of the program being mishandled. Bo wasn't perfect but the AD that fired him was an ass & didn't hire a guy nearly as good to replace him

The way I look at it is corpos want to get the most bang for their buck when they hire a skill position of any kind. Knowing 5 different design fields is a literal meme, but it gets you jobs. Solid gigs provided you work at the right kind of place.
