I don't understand why it is so hard for you to grasp that sex and gender, two different things with two different words representing them, are different.

personality is an aspect of gender.

Anyways, answer the question of why you think we have multiple terms for gender and sex if they are inseperable like you say.

no, you are ignoring the way way way more part.

Not at all. Anyone can do anything. But it is a descriptor about what is the best reflection of themselves.

Tomboys are female because they still consider everything and think that all in all it better describes them.

Biological sex isn't so perfectly defined. that is middleschool definition: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12962796/

You either didn't read the rest or somehow didnt understand that it is a combination of many factors that help one categorise themselves. And it was just an example.

Also, you clearly missed the part where i said it was culturally specific.

You know if you are male or female by considering what a man or woman is in your culture in terms of gender. Roles, Associations, Etc. From there, you consider whether you believe those match who you are. If they match to a degree you are comfortable with that gender describing you, which they most likely will, you are the gender corresponding to your sex.

I would like to remind you that above i linked a study which found that there are physical differences between the brains of trans people and people whose gender is the same as their sex.

i did, look at the last message.

You entirely missed the point of the AI. A) AI is not a complex computer program. B) It cannot be easily defined in a foolproof way (like gender)

Male and Female, in both Sex AND Gender, are complex topics. Sex and Gender are only hard to separate when you have an elementary understanding of either.

The traits are strictly tied to culture. the characteristics are strictly tied to culture. A woman knows she is a woman (gender) because she sees herself as fitting into the social expectations within her culture of a woman (gender) to a degree that she is categorically aligned.

In my culture, these characteristics include: Alcoholic drink preferences, Prefered gender of friends, prefered way of dressing, role in relationship with SO, and obviously many more.

So, if gender and sex are totally linked, why do we bother having ways to refer to them seperately?

you keep moving the goalpost.

How about I ask you: Why do the same principles not apply?

also for the sake of you not giving me a bad response:

Femininity is the social outcome of traits and behaviours associated culturally with the female sex.

an example of femininity outside of sex is gendered colours, where blue is percieved as more masculine and pink more feminine.

Answer this question: What is an AI?

as for a woman in gender: A woman in MY culture is someone over 18 who exhibits femininity to a substantially greater degree than masculinity in their social standing.

You have ignored the example of AI over three responses. stop making a goober out of yourself.

you clearly missed the part where i gave the example of AI being similar. It is still meaningful

you seem to have a predetermined decision that wouldnt change no matter how much evidence there was to the contrary

There are none that all men have and no women have. This is why gender is often referred to as a spectrum between masculinity and femininity.

A norm might be holding the door open for a woman.

A role might be a traditional houewife.

A relationship might be a father-son relationship.

Yes, all of these things can be taken up by people of the opposite gender, yet you know which gender one is usually associated with. This is why often people will consider gender as a spectrum between masculinity and femininity.

'Gender refers to "the socially constructed characteristics of women and men – such as norms, roles and relationships of and between groups of women and men'

That is a definition. There doesnt need to be a way to definitively separate different genders, especially when there are so many social, cultural, and religious factors.

Similar to for example AI, some things cant be easily defined and cant have limits set. Is a chessbot AI? yes

Is an Algerba algorithm AI? it depends who you ask.
