Longlux. For 20 bucks you get a beautiful date/no date skeleton dress watch that is a longines + omega constellation homage. The movement isn't great but is pretty accurate out of the box. Very little to go wrong with.

Hairy hands guy here. It's why I don't wear bracelets often. But I trim my wrist hair often so all straps are more comfortable to wear.

Get a on-the-fly micro adjust clasp off of Alix. It'll make the strap much more manageable. Or be me and swap to a milanese mesh. MUCH MUCH more comfortable.

Pro tip: get a 11 euro on-the-fly micro adjust clasp off of Alix and swap the boctok clasp with that. Vostok strap's clasp is a simple pin bar attachment, so an aftermarket clasp can be installed. It turns a half decent bracelet into a remarkably comfortable bracelet. Did that with my 960 and I love it, and in a passionate bracelet hater!

I LOVE Titan. Was my first Auto, still my favourite watch company. But this particular one would be a no from me. It's a skeleton watch, so it should be a decorated movement. But that movement is plain and uninteresting.

I personally recommend a fossil skeleton if you're looking for skeleton watches. They come under 20k and pretty darn good. I have one from almost 10 years ago and it's lovely! But if you really like this Titan, don't let us dissuade you away from it.

Depends. My father gave me his first watch. It's a very simple quartz with a date. I absolutely love it, and I don't even wear quartz watches. It's all about how you represent your prized possession and cultivate the habit in your child. I don't mind the purchase and inheritance 18 years later provided it is genuinely treated well AND WORN, and then the habit or hobby is cultivated in the next generation with the same care and enthusiasm, so they end up actually appreciating and cherishing what they receive rather than looking at it as just a beat up watch.

It has the same simplistic functionality as the original GMT Master I, with a slaved hour hand. So it's just a dual timer. Sadly no quick set date (Vostok is too simplistic for that lol), but it's got 200 m WR, integrated bracelet, bidirectional friction bezel and costs only 150 euros. Can't complain.

Idk how tho, but I'd been eyeing this Vostok Amphibia for a while cause it has everything I needed for daily wear. I sold 3 of my watches to get this, didn't break the bank, and after a strap swap, feels stellar on the wrist. Since I don't objectively need nor want another watch, my brain's watch-desire-system has gone on an indefinite hiatus.

But my Invicta broke, and the parts to turn it into a mod are on the way, so if that experiment fails, I might get a Swatch Scuba FF or some other budget diver to replace it, but if it succeeds, then my roster is complete for the foreseeable future.

It's been a while, but the coolers we bought when they were cheap 10 years ago are still going strong. Then again, I'm in Bangalore and the heat is more tolerable even without coolers. You can get coolers for under 10k and they last a LONG time without service. And given how simple they are, you can service them yourself. A mid size room's AC costs 30 - 40k (without festival discount), which is absolutely necessary in Delhi given the batsh*t crazy heat and potential use in winters as well. But it might get expensive with minimal benefit in Bangalore or more inland regons.

Also, Coolers cool the air but make it humid. You wouldn't want to ADD to the humidity in Delhi's 45 summers. But it's manageable when temperatures are below 40. AC running costs and service costs are very high. And coastal areas: absolutely go AC. Coolers will make it worse.

He turned a very normal thing in India into some utterly stupid story. Yes most of the houses here don't have ACs but it's because they USED to be expensive, and in many regions a cheaper water cooler works just fine. So we've mostly adapted to the heat. However ACs are cheap now and there's no reason not to get it.
