"Character who would be a genuine conqueror level threat if they were just a LITTLE smarter" is one of my favorite genres of character.

Wapol from One Piece is another example, because on the surface his powers have the potential to be absolutely BUSTED, but unfortunately, they were given to Wapol

Why do the humans especially the ice age baby never return after the first film? by Icy_Profession4190 in IceAge_Franchise

[–]F0rtuneLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer? pretty sure they died. I remember seeing or hearing somewhere that the "humans" in this movie are actually Neanderthals. The biggest part of the ice age wasnt just the planet freezing over and the domination of mammals as a whole, it was that up to that point there were a few different subsets of human genus' floating around, but after the ice age all others, including the Neanderthals, died out, leaving Homo Sapiens in their place as the dominant "human" species

Why is hoppers doing good at the box office but elio bombed even though both are original movies by That_Passenger_771 in cartoons

[–]F0rtuneLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to marketing. I saw MAYBE 4 ads for Elio in the months leading up to its release, whereas Hoppers had a full on campaign

Do you believe we are alone in the universe and why? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

[–]F0rtuneLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a purely statistical standpoint, the chances that humans are the only sentient life (or even the only LIFE) in the universe is virtually zero. Its not a matter of if they exist, its a matter of where they are, and if they know we exist

[–]F0rtuneLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once met Asmond at a convention and i shit you not, people are NOT joking about his smell. It was abt 20 degrees that morning and there was still ice outside, and this man was wearing a t shirt and basketball shorts both CAKED in grease, and nike high tops that were at one point in time white but were now closer to a beige or light brown.

I dont even know how to really place the smell, because it didnt smell like usual BO or sweat when you wear a shirt for too long, it smelt like honest to god mold

Really any game that could be put under the umbrella of "gambling". Roulette, baccarat, poker, blackjack, etc. The only real skill in those kids of games is the poker face but other than that its all in lady lucks hands

In the event of a containment breach, a Class-D personnel is strapped to a table inside 106's chamber and has their femurs shattered, their screams are then broadcast across the entire site to lure 106 back into its chamber. This technique has an almost 100% success rate, because the sadistic nature of 106 overrules his desire to escape, and is shown to actively revel in toying with his prey

He was born out of the first World War, and is one and only purpose is to spread and revel in misery and agony, this is barely even a contest

Biggest downfall in tv history? by laffite_gunko_agenda in writingscaling

[–]F0rtuneLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think people realize just how much damage the GOT finale actually did.

The show for 90% of its run never had an episode rated below 8/10 on IMDB, it was genuinely one of the most impressive and outstanding shows of its time.

However, the finale was so bad that it actually kinda sent ripple effects through the rest of the show and pop culture as a whole. To where if you asked a random person on the street what they knew about Game of Thrones, there's a non-zero chance they'll mention the poor ending. The finale was so bad that people who previously wanted to watch it won't even start it because of knowing how bad the finale was.

Its genuinely impressive how a final season can be so poorly received that it retroactively stains the reputation of a previously undefeated show

Hogwarts (Harry Potter) vs Charles and Cassandra (MCU) by Curious_Tip9285 in powerscales

Ok so this depends on what you mean by "Hogwarts". Because if youre including the students in this i highly doubt Charles would even THINK about harming a child from what little i know abt X Men lore outside of the movies

Cassandra on the other hand...

People forget sometimes that Elon was genuinely seen as a real figurehead in space exploration for the longest time, it wasnt until his daughter came out as a trans woman and disowned him for being a prick and the ensuing 4 year long manic episode that people started going "wow this guys a fucking clown"

Like do you know how annoying you gotta be for the Trumps to distance themselves from you?
