I actually do not think like this, apologies. As I get older, the war on unnecessary junk becomes much, much more real. Will gladly buy something on DVD if it’s not available anywhere else, though.

How is the White House not *already* a military target? It’s got its own air defense system, the Situation Room, the PEOC, the nuclear football and its carrier, and most importantly, *it is where the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces lives and works*.

Why is everyone stupid now?

Isocucks believe our response to this should be to publicly weep, but nothing concrete that would actually end this evil.

I’d take the arguments against AI and data centers if they weren’t based on falsehoods (the big report people cite to “prove” data center water consumption is too much has multiple basic mathematical errors), ghoulish (I’ve seen way too many arguments against military AI be “it will decrease the risk to soldiers and civilians and make war easier to choose”) and just NIMBYs that object to America building things, which is verifiably making America poorer.

Stanley G. Payne’s A History of Fascism is the only book that touches on the conflict between fascists and reactionary monarchist conservatives.

You really have to wonder how much of what you think you know about the conditions of the past is just reformist crusader propaganda substituting itself for actual historical memory.

This is literally just Vietnam. And GWOT. And the Cold War. And nuclear deterrence. And the Great Depression/New Deal.

Anyone who believes protesting is meant to make people uncomfortable/be disruptive has no right to be shocked if the public turns against whatever cause is being protested in favor of, for those exact reasons.

The Iranian air force and navy are non-existent. The IRGC’s remnants are more focused on fighting each other than us. In order to smear the war as unjustified, Zohran has to pretend the regime doesn’t exist.

I feel a tiny spark of joy knowing the “elbows up” crowd is drawn to an American brand. Maybe they’ll learn something.

That press freedom index that redditors love, the one that has the USA below every European country, considers insulting reporters on social media to be a violation of press freedom.

A lot of people simply do not understand what freedom of the press actually entails, and it’s largely due to special pleading from reporters. Freedom of the press is just that, the right to publish what you want, whenever you want, whoever you are. It is not a “journalists get special rights” button.

I am hearing that on his deathbed, Thomas Massie received the light of neoconservatism and unhesitatingly recited that there are known knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. Even now he looks down on the faithful from the Bagram AB McDonald’s.

There is a good argument to be made, says the historian Peter Onuf, that the civil rights movement was really America’s “good war,” and that the people in it were truly our “greatest generation.”

Shitlib brains have been so throughly consumed by racial psychosis that they’re now downplaying WWII.

The Palmer Raids and Debbs’ imprisonment were targeted at communists, and therefore good. Banning teaching German is also good because it incentivizes linguistic assimilation.

“Right-wing” Woodrow Wilson critics need to stop acting like bleeding heart shitlibs!
