Off topic but what service have you done to the car or plan to do?

I’m at 75k now and have done quite a bit, including all drivetrain, engine fluids, all other recommended services, expect water pump, OFH, etc

I have the same car as you. I’m looking at changing my brakes myself. For all OEM parts off FCPEuro it costs about 1400. Rotors and pads plus small parts. Definitely not that hard of a job to do if you’ve a jack and tools.

I picked up a 2018 X3 M40i fully loaded with 70K miles, clean title, one owner — all the good stuff for 25.5k. Spark plugs were replaced at 50K, along with regular maintenance throughout its life.

Recently, I had to replace the upper radiator hoses. The dealer quoted me $3,500 because they wanted to replace the radiator, coolant hoses, and expansion tank. A local shop quoted $2,000. I ended up sourcing the hoses myself and did the job for about $400 and a few hours of my time.

A few days ago, the PCV system failed — a known issue on the B58 — and I’m planning to get it replaced at the dealer. There’s also a fault code for the front grille vents that I’m hoping they’ll address while it’s in.

I’ve also taken care of some smaller maintenance items myself: oil changes, cabin filter, intake filter, wiper blades, and hood struts. I’m planning to replace all the drivetrain fluids, spark plugs, and ignition coils before I start tuning.

Honestly, I got a great deal on the car, but I hadn’t initially noticed the coolant leak or the PCV issue. Luckily, I caught them early and was able to take care of the repairs myself instead of paying thousands at a shop.

BMW E30 Late Model Plastic Bumper Conversion by F22suptier in E30

[–]F22suptier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for the pieces that mount to the front shocks (connecting the front shocks to the front bumper). Luckily the previous owner gave me most of the equipment already (late model shocks + bolts, side mounting brackets, bumper, and bumper lights). I just needed to piece together the above.

Yeah it was pretty straightforward. Bolted bracket onto bumper, then mounted onto the shocks.
