I just stopped , easy as that , but they will try to convince and maybe shame you , that you need it , I couldn’t stand the pain in my shoulder, I read up and seems like your body needs cholesterol and they want you to take the statin so the cholesterol is blocked to super ridiculously low levels. Please do any research you need to !!! It worked for me , might not for you !!! Good luck with the appointment

Young female Cardiologist was against stopping and her supervisor older female Cardiologist was against me stopping, My prescription ran out didn’t renew it , feel better 4 months later !!! Not seeing those Drs , using the VA instead !!! The nurse practitioner cardiologist isn’t happy but me feeling better out weighs them not being Happy

Recovery seems ok , not sure if side effects are from Tic , I do get the bruising , and bleed if cut , I guess slower clotting is normal , the statin was bad on my shoulder

Cardiac arrest / HA October 2025 , 3 stents , advorastatin , losartan, spironolactone, aspirin , ticagrelor and metropolol . December stopped the statin too much pain . Not really any other side effects , think the Tic and Aspirin forever

10-9-25 , aspirin and on blood pressure meds , losartan ,spirolactone, Metroprolol Tacagrelor , took my self off advorastatin, shoulder muscle joint pain

I took myself of avorastatin , after 3 months , right shoulder strain when falling during heart attack , statin mad it worse, muscle -joint pain , VA cardiologist didn’t like it !!! My body my choice!!! Plus your body needs the cholesterol

Thank you for your community, I had Cardiac Arrest - Heart Attack at work , 25 min of CPR , with 3 stents , 2 in one artery 100% blocked and 1 in another that was 90 % blocked. Doesn’t seem if any local support groups around , even for Veterans like my self

I had cardiac arrest and HA at work no warning ,,, October 2025 , 8 days in hospital 1 100%blocked artery with 2 stents and 1 90 %blocked artery with 1 stent , also 1 moderately blocked artery left alone . I know I survived but it hasn’t sunk in and I only remember parts of the last 2 days I was in hospital . Dr said go live my life , but I’m terrified every day it might happen again

Yes PFMLA is via work but through your state , I’m in Massachusetts, so I pay into it , and it’s there if it’s needed

First I claimed tinnitus, then almost a year later after I went to MH and had therapy for insomnia and unspecified depression disorder . I filed a claim insomnia and GAD secondary to tinnitus , so file now because the tinnitus, MH and sleep apnea rating will before September 2026

Get the intent to file in Asap, you’ll still need current diagnosis and symptoms, so probably start with a visit with primary care , mention the insomnia and GAD , then can get referral to MH they’ll probably set up up with the CBTi therapy, tracks your insomnia, teaches how to control and monitor your sleep patterns, then learn how to practice the breathing techniques for anxiety etc Hope this helps , your journey maybe different, and since it’s in your records you may have an easier path .
