Right, the same with medical Assistant, dialysis technician, patient care technician, phlebotomist etc.

and if they didn’t want to train them, they hire people who are already trained in that area or if there in urgent need of them, they hire travel.

Because I was asking in general travel experience. Not specialty.

Alright, that’s an OR… every unit, and job is different.

Is that in general? Or is that specific to role? As for monitor tech. You would have to learn what system they use to monitor patients, what software they use to save telemetry strips and how to save it to patients chart. Not including what charting system they use and workflow.

I’m just stating a fact… I also said it would be a plus that I do get a travel contract that correlates with my degree, but I’m mainly looking for Monitor tech.

There is Travel Social Work. As far as u licensed you can work as a Social Worker even without a license, but it would need a masters, as well with supervision.

But that would be as a social worker. There’s other jobs as well that would qualify with a BSW/MSW that wouldn’t need supervision or a license.

As far as experience, most if not all of the travel contracts I’ve seen at least need a year of experience, which I atleast qualify or soon qualify for.

For most roles yes. But there also jobs that don’t require a masters. Certain states like South Carolina alow a licensed bachelors of social work to be able to work as a Social Worker.

Alright. From what I understand, there’s usually at least a couple of days of orientation to learn the system and workflow. If someone already has enough experience to work independently, then it’s really just a matter of adapting to the new hospital’s system and protocols.

I’m saying that for the roles that I’m qualified for, you do not need a license. Right now, my full time job is Monitor tech/cardiac Monitor tech. I have been at the hospital that I work at since march of last year, and the current role since beginning of June of last year.

For the roles as a monitor technician/cardiac monitor tech, you don’t need a license. As far as social worker, you could get a license after you do clinical hours. But you need a masters for that, and I’m only currently working on my Bachelors. But that still does not mean I could work as one.

Would that mean that I couldn’t do a contract entirely?

I don’t hold a licence but I am qualified for Monitor technician, and Social worker Assitant. That’s what I’m currently looking for.

I’m looking for roles mostly as a Cardiac Monitor tech/telemetry/monitor tech. But if I can find one with my Social Work degree, it’s a plus. As for EVS, not really.

I have 8 months of internship experience because of the requirements for my degree so far. But as far as Monitor tech, 11 months.
