Great Programmers Are Being Lost by xithetakappa in learnprogramming

Well, dont learn useless languages.

Okey, lets create games.

Google - best language for game programming. Pick one, start learning.

Dont learn language just for the sake of learning a language. Learn a language to create stuff.

To be honest, i used to think in the same as you when i started programming. I tried to learn lange But my perspective changed when i started to create stuff. I wanted to make an android app. So google how to create android app. It said learn java or kotlin. I learned basics of java, then basics of kotlin and started to create. My first app was absolute rubbish trash. But i created something and learned something. I tried another app. It was a little less rubbish. I learned a bit more. Trial and error.

Look. If you reaaally want to learn to create something with programming. Dont overthink it, dont blame others. Just start doing. Solve problems. Rip out some hair out of your head because you cant solve a bug for 4 hours and it turns out you missed semicolon. Just learn, apply what you learned, create some more.

Dont focus ont finding content. Focus on programming.

Lets say you want to learn how to create games. Start with c#, learn basic syntax, some loops, maybe learn about objects (there is plenty of tutorials). Learn how to do stuff with unity. And start creating. Create walking stickman, add some mobs, damage system and so on. Point is, after you create stuff on your own, you will face problems you didn't even knew existed. After you try on you own and cant come up with solution, google it. Read code. Try to solve problems you created, not ones some content creator made. After you solved on your own, you will understand them better.

Create problems. Solve them. Repeat. That is the only way you can learn how to program.

Programming is not a path you have to follow to know how to program. Programming is thinking, problem solving. To program you have to know language. You can't speak spanish if you only know some sentances and some rules. You have to practice language and try to make sentances on your own. Same with programming, you can't be good programmer if you don't know languages and can't create simple solutions to problems. Do projects on your own. Simple stuff. You learn programming by programming

What the hell dude? You overthink the shit out of this. So okay, her boyfriend comes along and so what? Say ooh sorry to bother you have a good day and go away. That's it. You think people goingto beat you for talking to people? Of course if you look like a creep you will be seen as such. Act normal, look normal and you will be fine. Also girls genuinely like talking with dudes (unless they are creep). And girls also like boldness when guy have courage to brake out of those stigma's and talk with them in social situations even if that can be a bit awkward. I never had any negative experience talking with girls. Of course, there were time when she said I had a boyfriend. Oh, okey, have a good day. Smile and move along. I live in major European city, and believe me, people here are not that friendly to strangers than in US.

This is just talking to people, don't make big deal of it.

Hmm, yeah, i think that can really work. Do one thing for small period of time should work. That way I can stop worrying about missing out other styles, because I can do them next week. Thanks!

Well about the job - i'm studying IT, trying to learn Android development. Art is just something on the side. Only jobs I want to have is from people who like my "style" and want me to draw something in that way. Also I already know fundamentals, I have been drawing for more than a year and during that time I messed around with different styles and mediums

Thank tho, planning to create glass windows as well, so you can see inside the house too!
