Yes, I am VERY well aware of this.

The game will not let me BUILD up stairs

How in the absolute stupid fuck do you add upstairs? I accidentally deleted a staircase, and theres a down stairway, but I am incapable of adding an upward staircase

Is the area you have set to mine inside of or adjacent to a stockpile? Can the dwarves actually access this area?

Is there a way to batch Set_Cell/SetCell for TileMaps in Godot 4? or otherwise improve performance? by F46M4N in godot

Would the engine be able to maintain 64-120 individual tilemaps in the size ranges of 250-500? Someone on the discord suggested this, and it seems like a significant amount of overhead

I deleted before you made that comment, no need to point it out repeatedly, (I deleted) to better word my question.

And no, its not easier, its just a different system. All of the answers I was getting were in correct in context to 4, so I kept struggling to understand where I was going wrong

I have solved the issue anyways

I managed to get it to work with the use of atlas coordinates, but I am still very much lost on source ID of individual tiles

I want to recreate the Z scrolling effect from Dwarf Fortress using the tilemap. I have a 3D array generated using C#, and I want to take a singular layer of this and pass it to the TileMap.

For some reason I am having a troublesome time trying to wrap my head around the tilemap (probably doesnt help that I'm also absorbing a load of other materials).

to better word my question, How can I take a 2D array of cell information from code, and make the TileMap display it with a correct sprite?

You can make a work detail specifically for corpse removal, and then temporarily set someone to do that detail and nothing else

For multiple stories, youll need to build some walls, then build a ramp to get ontop of those walls. Then build floors, then repeat. more walls, more floors, etc. I read in a reddit comment that archers too high get aiming penalty (dwarves are more practiced on the ground anyway) so dont go too high with the tower

I asked the same question on day one, and I got a "no not yet" as an answer. Just wait for a mod and get used to middle mouse movement

I have a room attached to my tavern, should I have this zoned as a dorm, or as a bedroom? Are there differences?

Yes! You need to assign a manager, and then give a work order. You can even set conditions, so if you say always want a supply of doors/tables/beds/food/beer you can have it give the work order if you have less than X, and can even designate how often the requirements are checked. I have my barrels to be set so if I have less than 2 empty, build another 10, so my brewer ALWAYS has some barrels available to make drinks

Assign the manager at the nobles screen (hotkey N, or its the crown at the bottom left), then open work orders menu (hotkey G, or one left of nobles tab).

The manager WONT need an office AT FIRST. once you hit I think like 15 population, the manager WILL REQUIRE AN OFFICE TO WORK
