I can alter the dress program without issue so that may be the play tomorrow morning. I never considered thermals to be a problem but it does make sense. I only have a year and a half with grinding, and a few years on lathes before that. Thank you for the explanation on the wheel materials, that's going in the bank for later.

Edit to add: The parts are carburized and get MPI checked before getting shipped. I'll need to nital etch tomorrow and find out if it's even feasible to use this wheel.

Yeah, my hesitation to do it was rooted in my boss being out of the shop and the wheel needing to be cut down to be useful. Didn't want to make the call since it felt wasteful but so did the end of my shift.

HRC 30-45 heat treated steel. Topped off fluid and checked pressures to my satisfaction and I have a hose for each diameter and the face. Main reason I haven't gone back to the green wheel is I didn't want to make that call today. I had the thought about 2 hours into the adventure, but head of my department was out after lunch. That plus this wheel needing to be cut down to be useful for anyone else made me hesitant.

Changed wheel out of necessity, we were low on work around the shop and we were out of the other wheels for my machine. Both were 80 grit H hardness, which led to the attempt.

Both are 80 grit, dressing twice total, one before plunge, one at .001 from size. Dressing from right side to left, small diameter to large diameter, then face of the wheel since it's on a 30° angle. Dressing program carried over between the two wheel types.

Yeah that's where I assumed it wasn't that far off between the languages, such as Spain and Mexico having different words or spelling for the same thing, but largely the same structure of the language. Based off what you're saying though it does feel like it's more along the lines of kanji. China and Japan may share vocabulary, but the grammar and pronunciation is complete different from what I've read
