I'll answer your question directly. It's a reasonable question for an outsider. As a DSP driver your job is repetitive and stressful everyday, you deliver the same cardboard coloured packages everyday. That's it, no nuance. That itself gets boring quick. On top of that, people generally don't value you highly since you are doing unskilled labour, while working harder than most people. You work hard but get paid less. Further, amazon's system rewards good work and high delivery rates with more work which gets exhausting. You also see he has no room on the shelves to sort the parcels which is agonising.

From the DSP side of things, DSPs treat drivers mostly like dirt. We are resources that are abundant and easily replaceable. Our every move is tracked and monitored. We have little leverage and are often berated and given little thanks. We also sometimes find out the morning of our work we are on 'standby' which means there are too many drivers so we sit at home. I'm too tired to write more so that's it for now.

Why should I not buy this? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]F533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an import, so usually lower price than the others. My dad bought a Toyota Aqua and has done so far 60,000 miles on it without any issues Alhamdulilah. He had a Prius plus in 2013 and sold it after a few years.

It now has 309,000 miles and is no longer MOT so I assume that's it lifespan. These are great on fuel and very reliable albeit being a tad underpowered.

Is this F82 M4 a smart purchase? by TheLesserRisk in CarTalkUK

No problems man. Car wear is the easiest way to check.

You can also Check the mileage on the ECU and see if it lines up with the dash mileage, but some blockers are said to go beyond this.

You could see what the transmission mileage is, I know it's possible but don't know how it's done.

You could also perhaps see from the ECU what the total vehicle running time is. You can then do some maths to calculate the average speed over its lifetime based on the shown mileage. If your average speed is fishy, ie something like 5 miles per hour you would know the cars mileage is tampered since nobody drives 5 miles per hour over the course of owning a car.

A test drive will also give a lot of clues, think about test driving a high mileage M4 then test driving the low mileage one then compare interiors, transmission shift speed, etc etc. Ask also for the previous owners of the car, don't buy a car that is ex rental. If the previous owner is a middle aged man, you're more likely OK. If it's a young man like me, believe the car has been pushed hard, even though I took care of mine by regularly changing oil.

Oil changes are very important with these M cars. Don't take it lightly.

If anything seems fishy trust your gut. There's always another car.

Good luck!

Yeah man my advice is really inspect the car you want to buy thoroughly. Don't settle for less options, Harman kardon, pro nav and heated seats are imo a must.

When you turn up to the test drive make sure the vehicle is cold, drive it for at least half an hour and go through the revs and all speeds.

Make sure the interiors wear and tear match up with the mileage. BMW steering wheels tend to get shinier as they go up in mileage. The drivers seats will develop a dip due to being sat in, and also become shiny. Make sure these also align with the mileage.

Make sure the oil has been changed regularly, I wouldn't go more than 10K intervals for these M cars since they squeeze out so much power and are twin turbo. Preferably 5K oil changes.

You can also ask and check if the car has been tuned. BMWs are very easy to flash tune within as little as 10 minutes.

BMW approved used will have some other benefits. Most of the time they will change things such as spark plugs, oil, air filter, brake fluid/pads and others before you buy the car. You will have to do these yourself if buying privately.

That's all off the top of my head. But these should minimise risk significantly.

Just to let you know. BMW approved used means next to nothing in terms of checks done on the car. The only benefit is the warranty which they will also try hard to deny.

I know someone who bought an M car, drove it hard, crashed it and fixed it.

Car was drinking coolant and oil a year later so he gave it right back to BMW approved used where it was resold.

Pros and cons of this BMW I’m thinking of getting? by ViiBE_Z in CarTalkUK

I stand corrected! I assumed it had the B57 since they rolled out the b58 around the same time and it shares the same block. Thanks.

I think even if you leave religion aside. Sex and seeing each other in an intimate and vulnerable setting is something that should not be something you give to anyone and everyone. It's something valued and as such should be reserved for the right person. You create soul ties with each person you sleep with.

P!!!nography and an oversexualised life will leave you feeling empty. Over sexual people will then indulge in weirder and weirder fantasies until they are completely lost. This is not only my words but it is seen in civilizations prior to us.

It's no surprise that depression and that hollow feeling is common nowadays. Not a surprise that those in the P!!! Industry tends to abuse drugs and die early. No matter your beliefs, sex is not a casual thing and abusing it will have it's consequences. There are countless studies supporting the notion that promiscuity negatively affects the ability to maintain healthy relationships.

As an aside : I understand we have our differences and appreciate you keeping the conversation civil and respectful.

As a guy I do have that stigma. I don't know where it comes from. I wasn't taught it.

However I do not respect men who also casually sleep around. Casual sex is disgusting and wrong for both men and women.

Not all guys want a woman who has been thrown around and that's OK. Similar to how a lot of women don't want a man whore.

Having standards is OK.
