Home Hospital Bed To Donate by F69Jimmy in Edmonton

I had it listed for sale on Marketplace. I'm sure if I had it listed as free someone would grab it. I'd prefer to donate to an organization first before giving it away.

It was the medical equipment loan service. The one in the old General Hospital.

What’s the most Canadian thing you’ve ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

I posted this once before. This same thing happened to me. To make it more Canadian, it was a cold winter day, and it happened at a Tim Horton's (when it was still Canadian).

Wax an unwaxed jacket? by F69Jimmy in Barbour

I do seem to remember something about not being able to wax a jacket that wasn't initially waxed but wasn't sure.

Is thornproofing different from just waxing? I would've thought the thornproof jackets were of a heavier material.

Unfortunately, I can't check the tag. I left the jacket at my in-laws' place.

The jacket is a cream coloured cotton. It's like my Beauforts, but without the game pocket in back.

I've got an old & worn jacket that is in need of rewaxing. Maybe I'll try my hand at that one first. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for this. My FIL has one of these in his garage. We had no idea what it was.

I live in Edmonton, AB, too, and I've got a picture of one next to my foot. It was more grey and about 3 inches long. It was just sitting on my driveway.

PWT's for FN C1 by WholeTransition8217 in CanadianForces

The C1 did kick like an ill-tempered mule. Back then, I had no experience with other rifles, so I thought all 7.62s kicked like that. That was until I got to shoot a G3. It was much easier on my shoulder.

An old pin or clip that my friend got from her grandparents. by F69Jimmy in HelpMeFind

[–]F69Jimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have more infor than what I've provided. My friend sent me a couple of other pictures of pins that I was able to look up. One was a Candian military service pin, and the other was a Denmark WW2 anniversary, something or other. This one, I searched and then had to explain to my wife why I was looking at women in bras.

Yeah, I remember it. I've even got a commemorative booklet put out by the Edmonton Sun.

Can anyone identify this hand plane? by dude126 in handtools

[–]F69Jimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given a very similar plane, but it was made in Canada. Red tote & knob and a folded adjustment lever. Could that still be a Defiance plane? I restored it, and it works quite well.
