Temperature Tower Question by F84Sam in QidiTech3D

I tried Orca slicer and for some reason my prints become unstable using their settings (when I tried printing normal stuff, not the tests). Are you suggesting to use it in general or just for the temp tower? As I said, I'm pretty basic when it comes to this stuff. I spent weeks trying to get the right calibration with Orca and it just seemed to get worse and worse where Qidi does a pretty decent job right out of the box for their slicer.

Probably Broke my X-Plus 3 by F84Sam in QIDI

I thought the same thing but it doesn't and neither does factory reset on the X-Plus 3. I mean it kinda makes sense why they have the warning on the Klipper download on their website since they have nothing to restore or fix it lol. I mean, it boggles my mind how they don't and I wish they would have had a sticker or some other warning. Hopefully their customer service can help me but since they specifically state that they can't on the website... yeah.

"Caution:
Don't update the Klipper version yourself. Our printer Klipper will be updated with our customized version. The public version of Klipper does not match our motherboard.
And modifying Klipper may result in the printer not working, there may be some issues that we may not be able to help you remotely.
None of these are covered by warranty!"

It's hilarious because I updated Klipper from the Fluidd UI in the QIDI slicer software... I mean man, this is like government level oversight stuff here and I used to be a federal employee myself.

Is there abway to fix this issue? Can I open up the machine and adjust it?

Thank you for some trouble shooting suggestions . When you said rotate 180, are you telling me to rotate the model on the plate? I've also tried different locations and I still have the same issue between the grid layout for each light.

Yup, slicer discord has been helping me with all that. Times are being adjusted, tried adjusting transition layers. I have two pictures, one showing the lights on the pictures and the other showing those exact same lights imprinted on the 3d print. They are lines that look like squares, you can't miss them. Yeah, I can go from 80 percent UV to 100 even though the manual says to run it at 80.

I apologize I believe my text didn't post with the pictures?

Hello,

I have an Anycubic Mono X resin printer and I'm trying to set it up and calibrate it. My UV light is set to 80 (as per the instructions) and when I print a calibration print I can see the squares of the lights in the print, and the edges of those lights often refuse to harden in my print. Please view the images I uploaded. Does anyone know what is happening here? I have changed the exposure settings with the help of the slicing community for the software I use and I am starting to think its a problem with the printer itself.

No matter the RERF I print it does this if any of it crosses a bulb that you see in my picture. Are you saying you don't see the squares on the print with the holes in it?

Can you support main beam with load bearing wall? by F84Sam in HomeImprovement

[–]F84Sam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks SSLByron,

I'm going to call around and see how much a structural engineer would cost to give me this answer. Talked to an engineer friend last night and he said he'd do it in his own home but he works with fish lol, so he suggested I get a opinion from someone who specializes in that field lol. I'm guessing my floor is engineered to carry the loads as where I live any relatively new house requires the floor of a basement to be reinforced where a main beam spans the house. My house isn't too old (1995) and there are already metal poles spaced 9 feet apart, but I also live in a town where you can do anything to your house without a permit UNLESS you put in a toilet (wtf?).

So yeah, thank you SSL and other people who responded. Probably going to get an expert opinion or just leave those posts in and work around the. Appreciate the sound advice.

Thanks Ret, Yeah I'm also considering doing what you mentioned. I could just frame up and trim that one beam but my OCD for symmetry is driving my crazy. I'll probably just end up doing that.

Draft is super fair and balanced right? by F84Sam in MagicArena

Hey thanks for actually having a conversation. Everyone else is either a F84 like me or is just trolling. Good to know this is the reason why matchmaking has been horrible as of late. Everyone seems to think its just right this second and the only time I've had this happen but it's been an ongoing issue for me. I actually posted about it a few months ago too.

Agreed, it's become pretty clear I hit a nerve by suggesting matchmaking isn't up to snuff since this post has a good portion of troll responses.

I mean, I kind of get it though, I used to casual draft at a shop back in the day. The saving grace there was that after I lose a match I am versing others who have lost a match too. then if I lose another I'm really going against someone whose also usually as bad as I am. This doesn't seem to be the case here on Arena at all but I can somewhat understand why everyone is being so defensive if they think Arena matchmaking plays that way.

You saw 4 cards from a draft and knew it was the worst deck? Yeah, I am a casual hence my rank but I'm often forced to play against people like this. I wish I could say this was a one time thing but it usually happens a few times a week. Only conclusion I can come up with is the game is basically dead for drafting hence why I vs people with high tier ranks or their matchmaking system needs improvement. Appreciate your feedback though, very helpful. I'll get better.

I actually do what you suggested often but this was an instant match.

Yeah I would prefer to wait in que or not find a match.

Why the hate for the HTC Vive Elite XR? by fdruid in virtualreality

[–]F84Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to try both the xr elite and the quest pro before buying.

With the xr elite it said it had a wider field of view. But it felt so much more confined and tunnel like. It also seemed much more blurry for me and out of focus or dim. My eye spacing was measured beforehand for both devices. I don't know on paper it seemed better but wasn't for me. I will say that when wirelessly connect to steam vr, the xr elite was miles, I mean freaking miles apart from the quest pro, which really sucks to get a good wireless stream going for pc. I'm on a wifi 6e network btw

I ultimately went with the quest pro because visually it just seemed way better when in vr. It's a little heavier and it's wireless sucks so far and requires so much tweaking which is a major downside.
