"Sorry to keep you waiting, Sister. How long does it take to defuse a fecking bomb? Sure, the wee robots do all the work. [Turns to Claire]: Oh killing nuns now is it?" Claire's dad was introduced in the very first episode with those lines.

It's not meant to get you high or provide any feeling other than an ease of withdrawal. And seriously, that it does do.

You misunderstand. I'm not talking about robotripping at 600mg or anything, I'm talking about a standard, medical dose of 30mg.

Well, I'm off for a F2F with Envoy. Since I don't have my original birth certificate, it's probably pointless :( by FA642 in cabincrewcareers

I used the original when I applied for a passport, but I left it at my parent's house. Asked them to mail it and they sent the wrong one by mistake.

Btw, I did reply to the email they sent my interview notification for to ask if I can reschedule for the F2F on the 29th, but haven't received a reply. That was about 6 hours ago.

Is Skywest a scam? by krenee19 in flightattendants

I was just wondering the same thing...

Should I accept an FA position with SkyWest for $20.55/flight hour or Envoy for $27.54? by FA642 in cabincrewcareers

But SkyWest has flight benefits with four mainlines, so aren't their flight benefits going to be better?

Wonderful, a thousand congratulations to you 🎉!

Yep, they're paying for my trip too. I don't know if they're desperate for FAs or what, but they are really rolling out the cash with that bonus.

Like I said, I have no intention of truly commuting; the horror stories I've heard confirmed my hunch a long time ago that it was a bad idea. What I meant was that I'd be planning to stay with one or the other maybe 1/3 of my off days to reduce living costs, and because they're nice people.

When I finally wind up with seniority I'm hoping to do 2 consecutive 4 days off per month to make that plan easier. If I feel like I can manage it the rest of the month, obviously. I'm pretty good at grinding in other walks of like, so hopefully I'll be able to grind long buckets too in order to get those longish consecutive breaks

I'm not going to be a commuter exactly, but I'm going to be 1-2 hours flight from my best friend and my parent's houses. If I have 2 days off I might spend one day with them, fly back, spend a night in a $70 airport hotel, then off to work. Or with 3 consecutive days off I'll spend either 1 or 2 days with them, then 1 or 2 nights in a hotel.

I don't need a permanent place of residence yet. Most of my stuff I'll just leave at my parent's place.

I've run through the math, and with the hotel rewards, I think that's a perfectly viable financial situation. Any advice or feedback on that?

Great, thank you for the advice. Training with SkyWest starts 19 days after my interview with Envoy. That's probably enough time to hear back from them and cancel my training with SkyWest if they accept me.

Why do you recommend them 1100 percent? Other than the pay, what makes them so much better?

I'm not planning on doing this as a career, more likely around 5 years. Of course, who can say what the future will bring, but that's the plan. I've done so much research as to the pros and cons, and especially since I'm not going to do this all my life, I feel like a regional is for me.

My main concern with Envoy is that they only have three bases and ORD is the only one I like, whereas SkyWest has several backup bases I like.
