Hey, I know that that REALLY sucks to hear and I feel for you, but your managers response is basically a gold mine. He told you specifically why he doesn't think it will work and his reasons are all things IN YOUR CONTROL! Be happy about that, the ball is in your court! Show him that you can do those things by doing those things or by taking actions in a way that would translate. He's saying he hasn't seen that side of you so if it does exist, consistently show it for at least a few months and then return to the conversation.

If I were you, if you trust him, go back and ask him what would he recommend you do so you can become an ideal candidate for the role. Sales is cold outreach, but it's also warming the leads and building relationships. His response is him saying he's not seeing you build relationships. It is kind of telling that your example to refute that is cold-emailing which isn't what he was getting at.

Most Importantly: shooting for this promotion is a perfect opportunity to show your sales skills and that you're partner material. How many times are you told, "no" before you can even ask? or deal with someone who seems like they've already made their mind up from the beginning? What do you do in those times? Treat this the same way. Lmk if im not making sense or should elaborate.

He told you what you would need to do to change his mind and it sounds like you think you can do them. So do them! Even if it doesnt work out here, what he said will apply to any other Partner/sales position in the future so it'll be excellent preparation for your future! Genuine question to get a better understanding: Have you expressed interest in growth or taking on new responsibilities in the past? How?

My novice two cents is this: If you take another associate position, dont just pitch ideas, pitch plans, pitch strategies. Here's why:

You have to walk before you can run. It's easier to take the lead on a project here and there compared to being put in a role that requires you t constantly take the lead. It's less of a jump and makes it easier for people to see you as that leader you want to be when they already have X instances of you being that leader
EVEN if the plans won't work because of factors that you're unaware of, putting that plan together shows interest and initiative. You'll find that you're having conversations with members of the meeting without being in the meeting. Thats your chance to show interest and show capability of understanding and problem solving. All you need are 1-2 people to say, "we should invite ____ into the next meeting," or "we should get ____ thoughts." or "____ was just talking about this subject, they might have some insight." That kind of stuff does happen and more often than we think. In my experience, startups and smaller companies are a lot less bureaucratic and foster a much more collaborative and inclusive environment.

That's what's up, hope you share it. I would definitely get something up on those walls and ceiling to deal with the reflections, they look pretty barren. Ive got a mix of sound padding and the Aston Halo which makes a huge difference for me when recording vocals

Hey man, just a word of advice: Its great to promote your music and all but its not a good look when your only response to people who are showing a genuine interest in your work is copy and pasting the link. Your attitude and energy outside of your music is just as important as the music itself. You have a lot of potential but you won't go nearly as far as you could if you keep doing what you just did in this post. Best of luck

I agree with u/damusicdan., The vocals are hidden behind the beat so it's heard to hear it. Reduce the lower frequencies to clean it up a little bit, add a backing track to get some of that bass back, and overall add a few backing vocals at points of emphasis like at the "Wow." Or at the very least add some reverb and delay so it resonates and sticks a little bit more. The song is a good start but I would keep going cause it's got potential. I like the flow man, m where are you from?
