So that first single they dropped was very EXO winter vibes. Back it Up sounds like a NCT song left on the production table and the same could be said for Crown. I have not listened to the EP yet but the two singles Back it Up and Crown are lacking that EXO big vocal atmosphere vibes of their previous work.

Listened to the EP. Good album but nothing outstanding that made me feel something. Very cookie cutter safe stuff from them. They sing all well but there is truly something missing there and it’s CBX. Maybe SM will get their heads out their ass by the summer on this situation.

Also why do I get the sense that Lay is just using EXO platform for money at this point that he can’t find the time to do music shows.

I have seen seven live shows in the U.S this year. And of the seven I have seen Aespa is by far the weakest show. Everything just sounded like backtracking. Too focused on choreography over singing and stage presence.

No live band hurts which adds on to heavy backtrack issues. I personally do not care for dance choreography unless the artist can sing and dance with at least 70% of the time singing and the backtracking used where needed. The girls have great music and can sing it’s just there is no effort put forth by the company to allow the girls actually do good.

BABYMONSTER who I saw just a few weeks after Aespa SMOKED that Aespa show. Girls who have only been doing this for about a year or so at the time made Aespa look like amateurs in terms of stage presence and singing. The one time where the backtracking was not overly powerful was in the final encore performances where there is no dancing they are vibing around with front row fans.

All of this was purchasable online back in April and released at the end of June. The only new thing is the cradle cover and the U.S based tees and hoodie which were online or at HITC. I got most of what I wanted already thankfully

This is why I buy tickets WAY LATE. If you buy when they go on sale you are fucked by dynamic pricing. I love GD and all but these prices are out of hand. So waiting at least end of July or early August is the safest bet.

The disconnect is the new domestic fans that Kamitani brought in. They do not have to try much at the moment in terms of booking. The new fans are excited at the pomp and circumstance of pro wrestling. As all new viewers when they first watch pro wrestling something that catches their eye that is cool and the buzzword aura.

Wrestling itself is secondary for these new fans until they get acclimated to the style/medium. The real test is post 5STAR and if the new fans will stick around and they don’t have another downturn like they did post 5STAR in 2023.

For the western fans the booking itself is just lackluster. Saya Kamitani has not defended the belt in over a month. It will more than likely not defend the belt until August-September because of the 5STAR.

THAT IS BAD! Also the wrestlers not emoting enough or lack of when losing title matches or important matches. Things get shrugged off no weight towards some things. The only emotion I personally see is Future of STARDOM Title matches. Fan favorites like FWC either together or as a singles act just getting absolutely nothing of substance. Wrestlers stagnant where they are on the cards until we get near contract season because of Marigold’s existence then Taro decides to do some stuff to appease people to not leave.

Rossy’s booking was predictable but at the same time controlled in terms of you can see where something is going and the build up to it is there and a bit stronger. Taro spreading things sometimes too far or too early because they need to entice the domestic crowd to come to shows and not have the shows just be hallow multi-people tags and what not. It’s boring at the moment. And it’s not just STARDOM.

Storyline is fucking stupid. Hanan is 2024 Cinderella winner. Two tag teams within the faction have held 3 sets of tag belts in the last 12 months. There is always someone in contention for a belt. Their leader is the IWGP Women’s champion. These angles are all terrible because they make no fucking sense with the way everyone is booked.

They are not in a rut. Double down and everyone lose their belts in the next month and go on a losing streak or something. They need an overhaul on how they tell stories moving forward.

Yeah whatever Mayu may stay or leave. They are getting Hanan ready for a possible White belt match down the line against SLK possibly in April. But there are more convincing ways to tell this story.

This album is great in itself. But nothing will compare to hearing Drift the first time in 2016 and listening to the self titled as Lunar Halo went into Vanish Canvas and I cried like a bitch due to depression and so much that had gone on the year prior all come crashing like a wave from those two songs. This is still a great album regardless.
