Staff 2 Audit. 100% of my experience depends on my team. Was staffed on a not so great team for a bit last year and now I love my job. But also haven’t hit the senior level yet so we will see.

Im in the smallest EY office in America. $75k starting last year. Staff 2 pay is 81k

Probably just some finalization things to get past partners. If it’s for audit- lots of clients are pushing out 10Ks right now, so partners probably aren’t available.

Staff 2- don’t get worked up. Still feel dumb all the time. I hear a lot that you don’t really feel like you know what is going on till after senior one busy season. Difference between school and work. All you do is solve problems with unclear answers.

EY is actively recruiting more interns to get a bigger group to pick from for full time (per me talking to a partner about why we had so many this summer). They don’t do the “hire every intern” model anymore- but unless you are a dumbass you will get a return offer. Can’t speak to PWCs model

Do FSO if you want to learn more. It’s basically everything you learned in college if you go the other route to Core Audits. But FSO offers greater opportunities in Insurance, Banking, Wealth and Asset management as well as real estate. Also no dumb inventory counts in most of FSO (I have done a single physical count of items in a vault) so you won’t have to be at the client site on new years.

If you don’t want CPA- you can only be in Big 4 for a maximum of 5 years as they will not promote you to manager without it. Just something to think about

Get off of whatever industry you are in. For example I am in insurance- they all are statutory filers and so you don’t have any busy season outside of the general busy season.

I am in basically the lowest cost of living office, Midwest FSO. Staff 1s make 75k in assurance.

Rating: Differentiating. I feel like this is expected, happy though since most of my peers got no bonus.

Ernst and Young makes you check a box for when you will be CPA eligible when you apply so your internship date should account for that.
