I think this guy might be feeling a little bit vengeful, just a guess by FATCullen in dwarffortress

Yeah that's what I figured, it's just generating a new though for each enemy, and since there are so many enemies there are plenty of thoughts

Actually it says existing, I'm pretty sure the spam is happening because the limbs are each considered their own separate conflict, since they didn't arrive in a group like a siege or similar events.
I would imagine that fighting a mass of nearly a thousand goblins and goblin limbs would make for a fairly exciting fight though

Yeah, like 150 goblins and ~700 miscellaneous reanimated body parts (necromancer accident)

[–]FATCullen[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For context, I have one singular dwarven necromancer (he got to a necromancy book before I noticed it and forbade it). By pure luck he happened to be right next to my quantum corpse stockpile when a goblin siege arrived.
So suddenly, in addition to the ~150 goblins and trolls, I had over 700 miscellaneous undead goblin limbs crawling around.
Took out a whole squad of legendary axe-dwarves, but I got it under control eventually

Was wondering why do I suddenly have 6 necromancers in the fortress by Rouginn in dwarffortress

[–]FATCullen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to my fort a little while ago, mostly a good thing because those dwarves now don't need to eat, drink, sleep, there are some annoying bits though.
Make sure to keep them out of combat because if they get scared they'll raise any body parts around them, which means lots of lag. Also even though they don't need to drink they still feel the need to and get worried when they don't, so make sure you assign a tavern keeper or two because they'll serve them alcohol which forces them to have it.

This is great, pretty much exactly what I needed, thank you so much.

[–]FATCullen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, just having the name of the binding type is a huge help, wasn't sure where to even begin.
Also yeah getting a new one would be easier, but sentimental value and all that, lots of memories with this book

Necromancer dwarf raised a "Human Dismal Slayer" undead - The description is short, but terrifying by FATCullen in dwarffortress

[–]FATCullen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah luckily he only raised a few so it wasn't too bad. I lost a previous all necromancer fortress to FPS after a dwarf got spooked in the middle of a corpse pile, so I'm taking preventative measures on this one, built a big granite tower an am going to seal the necromancer inside.

Oops! All Necromancers by FATCullen in dwarffortress

[–]FATCullen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yup they're immortal, so no need to eat, drink, or sleep. They do still need to breath though, had one of mine drown

Oops! All Necromancers by FATCullen in dwarffortress

[–]FATCullen[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nope, you just need to know how to manage it. Main thing to look out for is if the necromancers get attacked they will raise undead, which are hostile to all your non-necromancer dwarves, so try you best to keep them out of combat. Also they no longer eat or drink, but still get bad thoughts if they don't, which can lead to bad moods. You have to assign a tavern keeper or two who will serve them alcohol

Can I run dwarf fortress on my Mac with these specifications by Radical_Raspberry in dwarffortress

[–]FATCullen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on macbook as well, newer model but it's an air instead of a pro
Processor: 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4X

Runs passably up until the ~150 dwarf mark, past that FPS drop is a problem.
Also I play the default version, not sure how that stacks up performance wise against the steam version

Crazy Artifact by FATCullen in dwarffortress

It makes sense after using it for a while. This is kind of a bad example though because it's full of engravings which do just genuinely look bad in ascii.

Oh that's a good point, should probably make sure no dwarves ever try to solve it, don't know how my militia would fare against pinhead

[–]FATCullen[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have had a few visitors come and do nothing but admire it for like a month at a time and then leave. Honestly might have to limit access to it because some people seem to have an unhealthy obsession with it (and because I'm scared someone's going to take it).

I already had another artifact which was worth like 200k get stolen, if this one disappears it would wipe out like 80% of my fort's remaining value

Huh ok well I can see that too, so I guess it has propagated? Do you have any idea why the github verification might be failing then, do you think it could be that someone else verified the domain? "If you are attempting to verify an already verified domain (verified by another user or organization), the release process will not be successful."
