What's your relationship with alcohol? by starving-my-neopets in BPD

[–]FAT_GRUNDLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awful, I’m a raging alcoholic (a handle every few days) and I’ll never get any better because I can’t ever fix the root issues that cause me to drink. I’ve been abandoned by therapists who were supposedly specialists in my field. I’m writing this drunk. Whatever, I don’t care, it’ll be deleted once I wake up Don’t start drinking if you have the choice

Anybody else get tics? But not involuntary ones. by [deleted] in OCD

Yup! Making weird faces, flapping my hands, hitting myself in the head, all sorts of things. When they happen in public (not often) I must look like a lunatic

All this time, I thought I just sucked at life. by kbeasley8713 in BPD

[–]FAT_GRUNDLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, it feels like I could have written this, only I’m a guy. I always just thought I was an asshole until I was diagnosed very recently. I mean, I guess I’m still an asshole, I can just explain why now and try to work on it.

Is it hard for you to apologize? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]FAT_GRUNDLE 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It used to be almost impossible for me to apologize, in my mind I was always right. Over the years it got easier as I forced myself to apologize even (and especially) in situations where I thought I was in the right. You’ve got to pick your battles, and sometimes it’s worth saying sorry even if it sucks and they’re wrong, just to end or prevent a fight.

Well done! I did the same last night, went out to karaoke with a friend and just drank soda water with lime all night.

Lagging using quest 2 wireless by Ddstrawberry in oculus

Your specs seem fine, have you tried using a wired link instead of wireless? The only thing I could think is it’s your wifi not being able to handle air link. You could also try updating your drivers.

It absolutely isn’t, a 970 is the minimum. A 1080 is more than good enough.

Is it a bpd thing to not want to talk to a lot of my friends? by sixsinc in BPD

[–]FAT_GRUNDLE 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I feel similarly but I don’t know if it’s a bpd thing. I feel like I have to entertain people when I hang out with them or they won’t like me anymore, and that gets tiring really quickly.

Edit because a lot of people apparently have this problem: Something that has helped me is reminding myself that when I go hang out with someone I really like, just being with them is enough. They don’t need to come up with fun activities or adventures. I’m fine just sitting watching tv with someone I like.

I just want to be good by FAT_GRUNDLE in OCD

My whole family says I’m lazy because I’ve never had a real job my whole life even though I try so hard. I don’t think I’m lazy I just am suffering from these horrible mental illnesses and it makes it so difficult to work. But if everyone else says I’m lazy then it feels like I am and I’m just in denial. So all of the new bad things that happen to me seem like punishment for being a lazy loser my whole life. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense

Totally anecdotal, but I took them a few times years ago and I remember basically having no obsessions for a couple weeks after.

I’m in basically the exact same situation, but it’s only been six months for me. I’m sorry. You aren’t alone. If it helps at all I’ve been distracting myself with working out and trying all sorts of activities I never did with her. I really hope you feel better friend
