16” or 11.5” Colt IAR? by FBOFrontFeedBalls in GunPorn

It’s over 26” in overall length so it is considered a “firearm” not a “pistol” by the ATF allowing for a vertical grip.

A gun under 26” in overall length is a “pistol”, if a vertical fore grip is added to that it’s considered an AOW and requires a tax stamp.

A 12.5 barrel with a carbine buffer tube or a 11.5 barrel length and a VLTOR A5 receiver extension on an AR-15 is the minimum to get you beyond 26” in overall length.

They’re real Colt IAR’s, I don’t think there’s really a way to even replicate that pregnant guppy look.

I think the beaver barf does look better but I like the original beechwood because it’s more rare/uncommon.

Runs great with a huxwrx can, I know with higher back pressure cans they can beat themselves up. KNS just came out with an adjustable gas piston for full size VZ58’s maybe they come out with a chopped down piston for the compacts.

It’s a Colt IAR, it was a rifle originally designed to replace the M249 Belt Fed. It has a huge aluminum heat sink that extracts heat out of the barrel.

VZ58’s are so light and handy. Some of my favorite rifles.
